Punch down 16 logs, make a wood pick. Mine 17 cobble. Make a full set of stone tools (minus the hoe) and furnace. Find food + Coal and just like the person above me...get bored and delete the world while hating myself for having no build talent.
I'll typically start almost like I would a UHC game.
Punch enough wood to make a pickaxe.
Get some stone.
Make stone tools.
Coolect an ample supply of wood and any apples that drop.
Gather some basic food supplies [Raid a nearby village if possible].
Then at nightfall I take what food and wood I have and head underground to mine for iron.
1. PUNCH TREES!
2. make a wooden pickaxe and axe
3. cut some more trees
4. kill cows/hogs/sheep for wool and meat
5. get cobblestone
6. make a cave and a door
7. build a bed so I can skip the night
8. KILL MONSTERS AT DAWN
9. repeat, this time digging for ore.
THINK ABOUT THE TREES GUYS. THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO. Anyhow good routines, just dont let greenpeace find out, mostly in the end get bored and delete world XD
1) Punch down one tree
2) Craft planks + table + wooden pick
3) Get 3 cobble, make stone pick, get more cobblestone, make stone tool set (2 picks + 2 swords as well)
4) Chop down many trees (until I have around 64 logs), replanting all of them of course as well.
5) Slaughter local wildlife to feed my growing appetite.
6) Dig into nearest stone wall, make wooden door, and put it in where I entered.
7) Make charcoal/use coal I found to cook food/iron.
* While I do all this, I generally break grass and flowers to use later when necessary.
So that about sums out day one for the most part, it can vary at times, but that's usually how it goes.

First, I would get 16 logs, and turn all of them into planks EXCEPT for 3 logs that I would later use for charcoal. I was make 16 sticks and make a pick and sword, and go dig into a mountain/cave for a base I will keep for a long time. Inside the house, I make a big farm and thats how I get my cobblestone to get better tools and a furnace. Whille mining the two rooms out, a day would go by and I would go get food and then go mining for Iron and coal.
1) Get some wood
2)have a quick look around at the terrain
3) Get some food if I notice some
4) Craft a wood Pick
5) Mine a stack of cobble
6) Make some stone tools
7) Mine some if I find any
8) Dig into a mountain and hope I see the light of day
Efficiency is needed on the first day of minecraft, here some :
1. Punch down 1 trees, atleast 4 log is obtained
2. Make wooden pickaxe, the only wooden tool that recommended at the first time
3. Mine some cobblestone, maybe 30 of it
4. Make furnace, stone sword, stone axe, stone pickaxe, and stone shovel
5. Find some caves, try to mine 2 iron ore
6. Find some coals, I usually find them when I'm going mine some cobblestone
7. Smelt the iron, make shears, and find sheep
8. Shear the sheep, make a bed, and you can pass night!
9. Make an temporary base, to put your item that you don't need right now on a chest
10. Find some food, most likely seeds for wheat
First wood, of course.
Wooden pick, some cobble, stone axe, stone sword.
After that examining surroundings, try to find meat (keeping two cows, I do not care keeping pigs, they may get killed), and either wool or coal, also chopping down some trees.
During night it depends, if i have found coal, and enough food, I go mining during night (main goal, iron), if i have found enough wool, I sleep night away, in case of bad luck I just block myself in and wait until morning.
First mining is mining, not spelunking. I avoid deep and dark caves until i have iron armor.
I get a crapload of wood and use it to make a crafting table. I craft a wooden pickaxe and get thirteen blocks of stone, enough for a furnace, a stone pickaxe, and a stone sword. Then, I hunt animals and coal until moonrise. When moonrise occurs, I did myself into the ground and begin to mine.

The source of my intention isn't really crime prevention; my intention is prevention of the lie! Yeah, welcome to the Scatman's world!
