There's an awful lot of butthurt forumgoers here that will be happy to disagree with you on that one.
But the forumgoers only read when we type "mob" (or "mob," or "mob," or even "mob" for y'all with that crazy last pronunciation); what does it matter how it should be pronounced? The best this [entire debate] can get is how people do pronounce it. Hell, there's even dissension among the "mobile [object]" computing term camps from which "mob" was shortened in the first place!
The only time it really matters is on an MP server with voice chat and someone starts talking about them. Then either all parties understand the term regardless of pronunciation, or a debate ensues during which some raging member(s) of either party gets killed by one because they're too busy arguing.
