I think the correct way to say it is "mobe", but I still call it "mawb" cause that's how I said it when I first learned the word, and it's hard to change it now. :3

The problem is that most of us don't feel it's socially acceptable to use a different pronunciation. There is also plenty of argument for "m-ah-b" because it's short for "Mobile OBject"
and there's also the "Monster Or Beast" argument.
I'd like to see a recording of a game developer (any game, doesn't matter as long as there are mobs in it) that actually pronounces it as "mobe". It's been short for "Mobile OBject for as long as I can remember. Unless you "object" as "obeject", it doesn't make any sense.
Also, Wikipedia is just like Minepedia - it can be edited by anyone at any time. Having a citation doesn't necessarily mean that the information is true to the source or that the source is accurate.
