I stopped playing sometime before the Halloween update. Just started up again. It's getting better all the time. I love the nether.:smile.gif: Anyway, I just registered to the forums to say THE PORTAL SOUND!!! IT'S SO TEETH-GRINDINGLY ANNOYING! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
Spiders that climb my house at night and all I hear is slurping sounds like a five year old weaboo eating overcooked ramen and I know that the spider's at the top floor of my house in the cactus farm, but I'm too lazy to go up there, then when I'm crafting cake it jumps down and rapes me in the ass, taking out all but one heart of my health before I can manage to beat it to death with a stick.
It wouldn't be so bad if zombies and spiders actually sounded scary. But they don't; they make nauseating slurping and gurgling noises. Why didn't Notch and friends watch a scary movie or two and take notes about monster sound effects?
I am eagerly awaiting the day when we can mod sounds as easily as textures.
A spider sipping a slurpee outside my window drives me absolutely insane. My moats and cacti traps weren't for protection, they were to stop that goddam racket outside. Now the spiders are back. Hate em.
Why do things like portals and running water have to have their sound start, stop, start, stop, start, stop? Why can't it be a constant (and for the portal, less annoying) sound that get's quieter or louder depending on proximity? It's pretty annoying the way it works currently.
I never did understand why animals were ever annoying, unless you're Let's Playing. Zombies, more so. *Twang, Ssss, and spider hisses freak me out more than annoy me, because I have some bad memories of those. (especially spiders. Goddamn spiders.) Water, mostly makes me lag.
Portals are pretty annoying, but Ghasts... oh Ghasts. Why won't you shut up?! Zombie Pigmen too, but not as much.

Super Hostile training is rough, but it trains the body well. Or reaction times, at least.
