Perhaps you're new to minecraft. On "fast" leaves don't have transparency. And they let you put torches on them some patches ago too. (It was normal for me, I learnt that torches couldnt be placed on leaves later hehe)

I have the same problem with my save... Really pissed me off cause I'm a sucker for aesthetics and symmetry, so I started a new world and the problem disappeared. I'm hoping someone will find a fix, though, as the glitch world was awesome.
Just did some testing, and I can confirm that this only happens to pre-patch trees. Any trees generated in new chunks will be bug-free. Same goes for trees from saplings. So I guess the solution is to remove any bugged tree and plant new ones.
Not too bad really... I guess big forest-fires happens once in a while... :smile.gif:
Insulting behavior aside, this isn't actually as obvious as you might like to believe. Many people, including myself, have decreased performance with the lower settings, with the game only actually being playable on Far, the game is only in beta, it isn't about your actual computer's performance most of the time, as it is your computer interacting properly with the coding within Minecraft, this means that logic kind of goes out the window.
I realize that being hateful and mean is second nature to most people on the internet, but without the full picture, could you please try to restrain yourself?

My Grandmother passed away on Sunday, the 7th of August, 2011. I am taking an extended leave of absence in light of this. My apologies.
They don't really match, do they?... Mind the "fast" graphics, haven't been able to get 10+fps @ normal render distance after halloween patch.

He said he was using fast graphics instead of fancy. Fast graphics doesn't render leaf transparency.
And that makes it 3 answers in a row for the same comment, and now an offtopic reply =D

One more example, they have different-colored leaves too, kinda funny to see. It's like each leaf is in it's own biome :tongue.gif:
