Theres not realy a way (that I know of) to move it since if you go inside and you move it the real world portal moves somewhere far. But what I might suggest is building a house type thing around the portal so that its safe? If its too hard to make the house thingy maybe put it on peaceful while youbuild it.
That's what I tried. I moved it only a few blocks thinking it would change the location completely, but it took me back to that same portal, to which I felt .
Switch to peaceful, pack STACKS of cobblestone and glass, and make yerself a nice fort with tunnels to different parts of the Nether. That's what I did after my first 3 portals spawned over lava lakes.

I did something that can't happen and I don't have any pics cause it never happened!

...its a little weightist to assume everyone is the same size. Like some people are skinny and some people are fart.

1 Nether block = 8 Normal world ones.
Moving less than 8 blocks will, of course, take you to the same door in the Nether.

Hence . I always thought it was the other way around.
that won't work, no matter how many you build on earth, even at the same time, or how far across the map they are, they will still all lead to the same portal in the nether. i was able to change my portal location by going to the nether and destroying the portal there, and then i killed myself to get out of the nether. when i went through the portal i built, it took me to a new location in the nether. its really the only way to change the portal location
When I enter the nether I always quickly make some supports off of the corners of my portal (with cobble.) Having just a few lines about five long jutting off of the top like that provide some decent cover as the ghasts start to show up and allow me to very quickly block sight to the most troublesome ones.
It doesn't take very long to construct a suitable bunker around your portal like this, even if your portal is right in the open. If you're right on the edge of a cliff or otherwise surrounded by lava you'll wanna do the backward sneaking thing for some floor supports before you give yourself the skeleton of a roof that I described since you'll really need to not be getting shot at for that but even so you should be able to put up some nice fireball-proof walls in no time.
If I include some glass windows then I usually don't put an actual door on any wall of the thing, largely because if I were right outside of it I'd be dodging the barrage lots and likely smash my glass anyway. Rather those times I build some sort of tunnel a ways away from the bunker. There's nothing scary about mining in the nether if you're up above the lava lake (well assuming you know enough to not fall when you pierce the floor) so underground tunnels are your best bet if you weren't already near a natural wall.

The mechanics of portal connection are basically this: portals that are fairly close to each other (same chunk?) result in one-way portals after the first. You can go into them just fine but the first portal for an area is always going to be the one you come out of, unless you close it by mining out the frame or having a ghast shot hit it. Going off of this you should be able to get what you want if you have enough obsidian to actually build both portals and you place your second one close enough in the nether to still connect to the same regular world portal.
Same thing works if you build the starter portal in the nether first and proceed in the regular world except you'll have a lot more wiggle room for the second part.
Presumably. I haven't actually tried all of this.
