This is pretty sweet, and the lighting is great. Buuuttttt it would improve exponentially if you used multiple textures, the wood look is awesome, but it needs some changes in some spots. Maybe Stone bridge, or different floors? I don't know.
It looks kinda bleak. You should add some different blocks to accent each other, use smooth stone, logs, and half steps to add some pizzaz to the house.
Why make a big house if you have nothing to put in the rooms?
I hope I don't come off as douchey here, but learn from my house. I know the outside is ugly but the inside is where the gold is.

A house I've been working on for quite some time, and I decided that I needed a bit of help with some of the rooms, so I ask you, fellow minecrafters, what do you think of my humble abode?
This is the front of my house. The wooden structure to the right leads to an underground base which is currently unused.
This is what you see when you walk through the doorway, my nice little living room.
Walk straight from the living room, turn left, and kapow, a dinining room with a bar.
Turn to the right and bam. Kitchen.
Enter that little doorway and kablooey. A television room.
Look out of that window at my pool, or an unupdated version of it. updated version will be next, but from a different angle.
Different angle, updated version. I am planning on putting 2 cacti in there.
Back to the kitchen. What is this? stairs?!
The stairs lead to something. The 2nd floor, here is a picture of the birds eye view of it.
There in lies my problem. What should I do with those 2, blank rooms?
But ah yes, the other rooms. Here is my bedroom :
Next to that is my office :
And the unfinished library :
Well that is my house (so far)...
What do you guys think, and what can I do with those 2 blank empty rooms?
See how every room has just enough space left over for it to look good, without looking too spacious?
In response to the above posts, no , I wanted to make the house completely out of wood and glass. I don't know, I might make a v2 with more rooms and some stone.
Also, @crory (your post was too long to quote), I like the house the way it is, and I respect your opinon, I'll probably fill some of the rooms in v2.
I didn't try a fireplace cause you told me too, I tried it earlier. I completely surrounded a log with stone, set it on fire, and it still jumped 4 air blocks to the walls. I exited quickly to avoid losing a day's work.

Been working on this lake house for the last couple of days, I think it looks awesome. I used 1000's of wood plans, and about 100 glass panes. Behold,
And the back..
Here's the front entrance, you can see the stairs, a painting, and the door to the fishing pier.
To the right, the hallway to the swimming pool
If you go down the hallway, here's the pool itself:
Here's to the left of the front door, you can see the hallway to the workshop
And the workshop itself, with my furnaces, workbenches, and chests.
The fishing pier
Take the stairway upstairs, here's the upstairs room, resplendent with a glass wall, bookshelves, and many paintings.
Here's the stairway to the roof;
And the roof itself, complete with open-air grain farm.
And, voila. The only mod I used was the Mixcraft HD Texture Pack v21.
Also, it's funny to note the lack of trees in the immediate area.
It look really nice though.

Also, how do I upload a save?
I tried. I'm lucky I exited out minecraft so quickly, or........
Run -> %appdata% -> locate your .minecraft folder -> saves -> World#
Then, put the world in either a .zip or .rar file, and upload it to a file sharing site, like Mega Upload or Mediafire.
I don't think you get it, the fire will burn down the house, don't do it! I was only joking!
Anyone feeling helpful today?
Here's the link to the pack I used:

Great pack, overall. I highly recommend it.
It tells you how to install in the readme.
