How do you reset the door. I know how to control water with redstone, you have to place another block to reset the water flow. This is a flawed design. Good thinking though.

Repeat a couple steps, turn the lever off, take the water out, put the block in, and put the water back.
Then replace the torch and sand. Simple
Seems kinda complicated. I think it would be easier (at least if your trying to make a good ol' hidden base like I have in SMP), to make an old fashioned sand door.

Yeah, it takes more work but its cooler :tongue.gif:
There was another method of doing this using reeds... Use reeds to hold up the sand and wire some redstone to the sand itself. Then remove the reeds' water source so they die. The sand will not fall. You can then use the redstone wire to force the sand to update and fall.

I'm very interested in non-TNT traps, seeing as Notch has yet to implement trap doors/flood gates.
Should work, just make the deep hole even deeper, and replace water with lava...
