34. When making a ladder to bedrock, make sure there's a block directly to the right and left of you while you're climbing, so you don't accidentally slip off to the side.
#37) Ores tend to spawn in packs - so if you see some coal, dig all around it and you're more likely to find other ore (including diamonds). Same for any other ore. Some people believe this includes dirt/gravel, which is where the above myth comes from -- thats unconfirmed. I can only say whenever I've dug around an ORE vein, I've found another one nearby quite often.
#38) Don't use TNT -- while it does make big holes real fast, its also possible to destroy whatever it hits. So if you hit a vein of 5 diamonds, the TNT could destroy 3 of those 5!
#39) Don't use your pickaxe to break the gravel blocks, you lazy lazy person you! Shovels break them MUCH faster, and using the 'wrong' tool to break a block (shovel to break stone, pickaxe to break dirt, etc) will spend THREE usage points, rather than one -- meaning your tool breaks 3x as fast. (I Think its 3, anyone confirm?)
#40) Redstone gives off a small amount of light when hit with a tool. While this isn't the most helpful tip, its good to know, especially if you run low on coal/torches while underground.
If your digging straight down, Dig two blocks down.
So Dig < Stand On < Dig > Stand On > etc
You can actualy stand in the middle of the two blocks (the line where they meet) and dig one then the other without having to move and you still won't fall. I just made you at LEAST twice as fast hehe.

Well, it looks like minecraft decided
"That's a nice everything you've got there... it would be a shame if someone ****ING THREW IT IN ****ING SPACE! :3"
51.) Don't carry too many tools at once when mining, or you won't be able to collect as much ore. Instead carry a stack of sticks and a crafting table. Stone will be available for more shovels and picks.
53.) it's a good idea to carry a sword or bow in your hotbar when spelunking.
54.) keep a few empty buckets handy to grab some lava samples.

Actually, that's the best mental image ever. A dying, drowning man stuffing his face from a massive wall of cake, and carving out a monstrous underwater cake picture. I'd pay to watch that irl.
[quote=Rotten194][quote=mcnugget] "Love cabin"[;/quote][quote=mcnugget]creepers.!
55.) If you fall in lava or just catch on fire, switch to peaceful and remove your armor until the fire goes out. Cheating? Probably. Good trick? Certainly.
57. Use ten obsidian to make a portal instead of 14, when on the nether side mine the 4 off the portal on that side. Return through the portal, remove all obsidian, walk a fair distance away, repeat. Every time you should gain 4 obsidian.

(also I'll stop talking)
36.) Use a system to help you find a path to the exit (redstone torches work well for this purpose.)
It's not any more likely near it than not near it. It just seems that way because you can remove gravel so quick, and it's in stacks.

Bring Multiple Pickaxes/Wood With You
Bring A Sword.
Bring Some Food.
If your digging straight down, Dig two blocks down.
So Dig < Stand On < Dig > Stand On > etc
Dont Risk Falling Into Lava!
Never bring an axe
Make it worthwhile
Grab Notch.
DL a Gun mod and pop those mobs.
If you take one out you better be ready to take on its angry cousins!
Took out an over head coal node once and was snuffed by a gang of Gravel seeking revenge!

Whoopsie...
41 - Never dig horizontally once you hit the bedrock layer, go up a few layers, if you do, you always will hit lava.
43. If you ever see cobble stone that you did not place, its a dungeon.
EDIT:
Damn, I didn't realise there were 2 pages!
54.) keep a few empty buckets handy to grab some lava samples.
I don't want to know.
56.) Backup your game.
That's a good one, never knew that.
Why?
