So I thought it was high time to fill me up a room with chickens. I dug a 2x2x3 hole and threw an egg in it to spawn a chicken. Voilà chicken in first egg. I do some mining for a couple minutes and come back to collect an egg or two and come to find... no chicken. What's the deal? Can they die? Don't think it jumped out, it couldn't clear two squares deep but I dug one more to be safe. Where's my chicken? :sad.gif:

If you go too far away, mobs despawn.

edit: Swim, once you get to know me, you'll know all I do is ninja people.

If you get a certain amount of chunks away (I think its 4...) they disappear automatically.

Son of a...oh well. Thanks ninjas for all the help. Maybe I'll wander around the Nether to see if I can't bring him home.

It really sucks, especially when you try to build a zoo.

Ja that was what I was hoping for. Ah well.
