that is child's play compared to my current build. I am trying to build an obsidian pyrimid that reaches from the lowest level surface I can achieve to the very highest point of the map. All told, it will be 245 x 245 or something like that (my actual measurments are downstairs atm). Do you realize just how much dirt, rock, and everything else that is to excavate a chunk that big BY HAND?! I've done the calculations and it will be well over a million blocks, give or take. I've nearly eradicated all the snow and trees and mountains on half of the site, right now I am working on removing all the rest of the rock from the outside of one side before I move on to another side. I'll post pictures of my progress when it acutally looks like I have done something monumentally impressive.

Step one: Dig out all the ground underneath the pyramid, 20 blocks down
Step two: Get a shitload of saplings
Step three: Grow trees, from the saplings
Step four: Close it off with a bunch of cobble
Step five: Biggest underground forest ever.

Have fun with that, one this size without mods/hacks will take 135 hours just to mine the obsidian. I'd give up now and go for something less time consuming but still impressive. I find obsidian structures to be quite ugly anyways.

Normally, I might take your advice but I've already got most of the obsidian I need for this, it's been an obsession of mine for quite a few months now. I can't remember how many nights I would fall asleep sitting at the computer mining obsidian. Since Halloween I have been working on clearing the land and yesterday or the day before I built one side of the super structure, running a two block strip down the adminium layer. I want to show it off but it's not impressive enough.
Also, I do like that glass pyramid but, like Deathviatar here, the glass in minecraft is aesthetically displeasing to me, more so than the obsidian.
It's a glass piramid, the base is 127x127 and 64 in height: 16128 blocks in total.
No cheats, no hacks. 12 diamond shovels (plus random number on iron shovels) in the way picking sand and a LOT of wood.
Cleaning the field...
Building...
And c'est fini...
Creator and creation...

as a base for building off of?
Is it hollow?
If so, make a village in it. :biggrin.gif:

And then remove the dirt :smile.gif:
Yes, it's hollow. I don't know what to do inside, maybe nothing :tongue.gif:
Huge Cobblestone generator?
Huge tree farm?
Huge mine?
So many possibilities...
I want to start a project now.
