It should be on the PC. That would be so much fun.

As much as I'd love it to be on anything more portable than a laptop, I don't really see it doing any better on anything other than the good ol' computer.
I'd advise having a look at the threads talking about minecraft on consoles. It inevitably opens up a massive can of worms. Theirs a crazy amount of people who think minecraft should be kept on the PC and nothing else, and they'll try and make up any old rubbish as to why it won't work, 9/10 it's just down to the fact they dont like console gaming and think minecraft is some sort of elitist group you cant join unless you play strictly PC games only.
Why cant we PC gamers have something JUST for PC for ONCE??? Why is it always about CONSOLES???
I wanted a No option. I think Minecraft shold stay purely PC, let the console gamers wish they could have it. Nyah nyah nyah :tongue.gif:
I like this idea, I'm also very, very tired of LIVE games ports to the PC or any other console port for PC. I'm tired of games that barely run on a windows 7 after 2~3 hours of trying multiple cracks to only by-pass online play or conection.
I'm tired of games that I can't run on my Linux nor Mac, only in the Windows monopoly. I'm also tired of glitches, bugs, and silly fails of ported physics motors from the xbox360.
I'm tired of all of that so MINECRAFT SHOULD STAY IN PC.
There are not enough explosions in minecraft, so I guess it wouldn't sell at all on the console market for retarded frat boys (i.e. PS 2-3 and xbawkz).
What else is there? A I know, the console market for retarded mascots (i.e. the whole Nintendo schmuck) and I don't see me jumping on goombas or collecting coins anytime soon. Also you can die in minecraft and when you do so, you actually lose some progress and Mario can't have that. No way.
Minecraft on something portable would be nice, although I hate controlling first person games with anything else than my mouse and my keyboard. I really don't dare to imagine what kind of cluster****ed controls the iphone or a ds would produce. uuuaahh.
Also, I don't own an Iphone, but I read that java on the iphone is kind of a problem? Especially when you try to install dev enviroments/compilers etc..

Basically, I'm showing you that over 6 years, PCs were searched more in the Video Game category than Wii, Xbox, and PS3.
According to those graphs, the X-Box and PS3 are miles ahead of the PC in anything other than countrys like chile, argentina, dominican republic, phillipines etc, and isnt that just down to the fact that less people can afford consoles in these countries?
If you look at the main gaming regions (america, europe, japan) the consoles are beating the PC as far as gaming interest goes by a country mile.
I'd say a gaming PC costs more than a console. I could have bought 4 PS3's easily with how much my setup cost. PC games and console games should be treated as totally different markets. PC gamers want different things than console tards. Yes, I said tards. Console games are basically made as simple and "organic" as possible so that the average console gamer doesn't think it's too "complex" or "requires effort".
Besides, Minecraft likes RAM in the same way that I like coffee. Lots of coffee, more than coffee than I should possibly want to have. Java apps aren't good with resource management. Consoles don't tend to have many hardware resources. Why? Keeps the costs down. Minecraft on a console would be so cut down and simplified, it'd be like cutting off a dog's legs and pulling out it's eyes.

You could buy a pc for £50 if all you wanted was internet access, which for the vast majority of the world, is what they use it for. Not everyone who owns a pc wants or needs one just to play minecraft unfortunatly.
This whole thread isnt about wether you think it would run on a console or not, it's about what console you would like to see it on if it was possible. Every time a thread like this pops up it just gets inundated with people who obviously don't like consoles, telling you every reason why they don't like the ps3 or the x-box. Thats not even what the threads about in the first place. Why dont you try and let the people who might think it's a cool idea comment without just giving a massivly biased view on console gaming in the process. If they could get it to work then why not get more people playing it? it should make no difference what platform its on if you enjoy the game.
Yes but how far will it go till it becomes console only like MANY games I have seen on the pc which became popular because of the pc just moved over to console only. Also a majority of games as stated once before for the pc are ported from console or mircosoft live. alot of games now are so consolified I feel like my bleeding acer laptop is a console. What we are saying is valid to this thread because JUST because can be done DOES NOT by any strench of the imagination mean it SHOULD be done!
I think that the wii or the new playstation motion controller would be optimal for minecraft. Point the remote to look/aim, a couple buttons for actions/menus. etc.
But the game would have to be much more optimized to work on a console, like these guys have said ^^^

P.S. PS3 > Xbox 360 (I feel like this isn't the best of ideas to put this down :tongue.gif:)
I vote for that!
Of course, there'd be a hell of a lot of appeal if he made it an N64 game :3
