I'll be quick... I have a map in alpha that I'm slowly building up and I just moved to beta. In that map I haven't been around much except underground and I was wondering if the map will render unexplored place in beta or in alpha? I tried rendering a new map on beta saw some pumpkins right at the beggining. I know that the map engine has changed somehow so yeah. If anything is new in beta (new blocks for exemple) will it be available in my old alpha map?
it would render it in beta (like biomes), however it is unconfirmed if anything is changed in the map generation. (However, i believe that deeper oceans do exist)
I don't think any changes have been made to the map generator in beta.
But in the future, if they change what the map generator does (new blocks, extra biomes), your map generator will add those to your map when you explore new areas. Your old areas will still stay the same.

Thanks!
