Perhaps "ghosting" should only work with leather armor? It gives leather some more perks.
Not sure about ghosting, but support for the reduced detection range.

Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.
I see. And I don't want to come off as arrogant, pushy, or stubborn, but in my opinion, the stealth aspect should also be effective on other players, and the ghosting seems to be the best way to do it. It makes you harder to spot when you sneak around in the dark, and if people want to flush out sneaky players, they can just torch the place.,the light will cause the ghosting effect to leave.
But I don't think that ghosting is the best way to go with it, and it also doesn't really make much sense as to why you would magically ghost, or something else when you sneak.
I don't think it should make you semi-transparent. I think it should just reduce the mob detection range and make you nameplate invisible for multiplayer. So I guess it's a partial support.
I'll support stealth in a limited way. But let's not make the game too easy. You can already crouch in Minecraft, and you already walk more slowly than normal when you crouch, so you could be in stealth mode whenever you crouch and mobs can't detect you from as far away when you crouch. I'll support that limited definition of stealth.

Would you support stealth being less effective when crouching in water, and being less effective when wearing heavy armours like diamond or iron, and being totally ineffective when wearing Chainmail? Because that is also a feature in this suggestion, thanks to Quadrabliz.

Partial Support!
