Well, in minecraft we all know that **** is created by other **** by finding that **** and doing **** to it, you know what i mean? Well, i was thinking to just keep all the regular weapons, but then have rare drops from strong mobs (like stronger new monsters?) rare drops would include just stuff that you can't craft, only find. they should be epic and rarity should vary, like for example: there's a 50% chance this skeleton will drop a weak magic arrow, but there's a 5% chance he'll drop the Ultimate Bow of All Things Bad In the World.
and maybe there should be exclusive drops to mobs, like for instance you can get a magical pickaxe from a mob of zombies, but from nothing else.
Also, just to keep the simplicity of this game, just make the rare drops different colors of basic stuff, like the super magical bow will just be a blue bow, or red for a fire bow, and those magical swords are purple or green depending on what it does
^well, not really WoW items or anything, i'd just want an item that is kind of prestigious, so like when you're in SMP, not everyone is decked out in diamond armor being the strongest, i mean we gotta some people with advantages, which would promote teamwork, maybe even some lore :biggrin.gif:
but yeah, not like some ridiculous list, i was just thinking like a new tier of equipment, so no like warhammers or anything, just a legendary sword, pickaxe, armor etc. that's already in the game
Maybe, but only if they don't break over time like normal stuff (or at least at 2000+ uses)
My (arrow) ideas...
1. Fire arrow
Dropped by skeletons. These arrows do damage, and also set what you hit on fire.
2. Slime arrow
Dropped by slimes. These spawn slimes on impact.
3. Pork arrows (yes, lol)
Dropped by pigs. These heal targets by 1 heart on impact (shoot it into the sky and hit yourself after 30 seconds!)
4. Water arrows
I don't know... Maybe dropped by slimes too? These create a water spring on impact.
5. BRAAAAAAINNNNNNSSSSS arrows (or something like that)
Dropped by zombies. One of these stuck in the ground will increase zombie spawn rates in the area and attract zombies.
6. Explosive arrows
Dropped by creepers. TNT strapped to an arrow. Explodes.
Similar to targeting strapped onto heavy.
7. Cloth arrow
Creates a block of cloth on impact. Dropped by spiders (string x9 = cloth). Also (very rarely) dropped by sheep.
8. Milk arrow
A normal arrow that has a milk spray animation on impact.
These could make the bow a bit more versatile, especially in SMP. These could also replace magic.

To Mr. Milk, that's what i was thinking, like oh ok lemme just go hunt some monsters WOAH DAMN RARE DROP, so maybe rare drops should be ridiculously low, so not all players will have something rare (maybe like a 5% chance?)

To Katana, those arrow mutations seem way to complex to keep the simplicity of this game, and most of them aren't very practical

I strongly dislike the idea of powerful items that are only found through pure luck. We should be able to work towards what we want, and earn it. If I kill a zombie, have I done anything to earn the sword of uberkill? No, I just killed a zombie. I might be a diamond-clad warrior, a I could have just punched him out when I started. Diamond may be considered somewhat rare, but you have to put forth the effort of mining deep enough, deal with the increased perils, and have already gathered the next-lowest tier, you have earned it, and can find some without too much trouble. Random, rare drops will either be a.) random boosts of power that are not earned or b.)needless grinding to gather high-tier items. Neither of these are desirable design.
