I was thinking, and I think a cool new thing in the next few updates would be spinning pistons. Some problems that I know about are lag, and spinning blocks in Minecraft aren't possible, yet. I think that with some good programming and some work, spinning pistons would be an amazing addtion to minecraft.
What do you guys think? I will be happy to reply to any comments.
Ehmm.. vague? Give us some more details. I have no opinion on it yet, and my opinion gives me the support or not you deserve.
But, welcome to the forums!
what's it's craft? (can we craft it?)
what does it look like? (could you add a pic of it?)
how will it function?
what is it good for? (why would one want this?)
There's a mod with blocks that can spin other blocks (Ugocraft) and the spinning seems to cause no harm on there, so I guess it wouldn't cause any harm in vanilla.
But can you be more specific? Does only one block spin, is there a limit, how is it going to be powered, how can you control the rotation, etc.
Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.
I think its pretty self explanatory I don't understand why people don't get it, but allow me to explain: Spinning Piston is a piston that spins...Purpose? It could have a bunch. Support? No.
You are expecting me to critique that...? What is there to critique? We need a lot more details. I don't know what you are taking about, what does a spinning piston even do?

Let me know if my posts are helpful or if you like them. That's what I'm here for.
I am currently lurking more than I am posting. I haven't gone anywhere.

I still don't understand. A spinning piston could rotate a block, move a block in a circle around it, spin by itself, create an entity that spins acting as a wheel, spin by itself "rolling" blocks along like a conveyor belt... There are many possibilities.

no offence, but you guys all must be dumb, a piston, moves a block, right? So a spinning piston would obviously spin a block! Honestly, I can't think of any amazing uses, but it would great for parkour with mapmakers and stuff. It would definitely be powered by redstone, and you would be able to right click it to change it to clockwise or counter-clockwise. and it could be placed up sideways or down like any piston, but they would probably all just be sticky. The block that the piston is attached to will spin, and it will spin until the redstone turns off. So, I think that covers the rest of the details, sorry for any inconvenience, I am new.
Welcome to the forums!
As for the idea, I don't really like it that much. Also, you need more detail, like the crafting recipe? What it would do? Everything. Sorry, no support.

Really? So we're dumb because we have no idea what the "spinning piston" does? Did you ever think that it was because you didn't explain to us what it did? Smooth, OP.

It may just be fun to spin in. Also maybe a minecraft interpretation of ZORBING
Guys, it is a piston that can spin.

The vagueness and redundancy, it burns!
