To those saying some are pointless: Sure they are, but they are much more convenient. I for one would not want to have to set up a redstone/command block contraption when I could simply type /gamerule , press tab a few times, type true/false, and be done with it.It is also much simplerThat is, than setting up all that stuff you have to learn how to do.

I wish I had a dollar for every person that said this; so what if it is more convenient and simpler? That is just being extremely lazy, and not bothered to learn how to do something. We can't just add a "quick fix" for every single thing that makes this stuff easier and more convenient.
The extreme irony with this is that map makers would have the most use for this, in which they should already know how to do it anyway, and if you are not bothered to learn, then you should not be map making.
/gamerule itemBan (ID of item*) (True or false) Bans the ID of the item from the game. You can't use it, or have it in your inventory.
This would be helpful in adventure maps or servers if you don't want a certain item used. (Like TNT, for example) The none and all selectors work with this.
you could have /noBlockPlacing because it will allow the owner or moderator of a server to toggle when players can place blocks without using command blocks or add-ons.

How about: /gamerule lavaFireSpread(True or false) Enables or disables lava from causing fires.
I hate when a biome generates a lava source on the surface, and burns all the forest.
or... /gamerule healthRegain(True or false) Enables or disables health regain.
For real hardcore players, or can be used for map makers.
I absolutely love this suggestion. This would make Minecraft more customizable to every player which I believe is a good thing.
These commands would benefit map makers and those who play survival Minecraft.

We already have a gamerule for that. I actually use it in some of my worlds, it gets real intense. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's:

There's a gamerule called /gamerule doFireTick that disables or enables fire to spread, so that kinda already exists.
Just going to say this: Remember to vote yes on the poll, otherwise I might miss your support.
Thanks for the support! (Adding to "supports so far")

when disabled, there is no durability on weapons, tools, and armor, when enabled, there is durability on weapons, tools, and armor. enabled by default
I'm back from my hibernation. Most likely gone so don't pm me.
That's a really good idea! Adding and giving credit.
