Now, as many of you may know already, in the Minecraft 1.8 snapshots the idea of infinite villager breeders have been broken by a new concept of villagers needing to be ready to breed, generally enabled by trading, and becoming less likely to happen depending on how often you trade. This prevents problems, it doesn't break the general mechanics and ideas behind villager infinite breeders but now, they will have to be operated manually for the breeding to occur through trading. To sum this up... it sucks.
My solution which will not jeopardize the balance that Mojang wanted from this change (they felt villager trading was too easily abused) is to give an option for a secondary beacon power to be a love beacon. This will make all villagers in range eager to mingle. This is a balanced approach as it is a late game concept, requiring the destruction of the wither boss and the immense gathering of iron, gold and other precious ores to assemble the base of the beacon.
This is a simple solution that will satisfy the needs of all, and not break a fantastic part of minecraft.
Please, feel free to give your support, and critiques of the idea. Anything to add onto the idea will be happily accepted and added to the thread.
What is it, a satellite that only broadcasts porn?
I like the idea so that early game it's still not really possible to infinitely breed them, but later after you are established it becomes a non issue.
FYI, I'm going to put a beacon in the sub village in support of this idea.

Maybe it could make all non-aggressive mobs breed as well? But anyways, SUPPORT!
I was thinking as well about non-hostile mobs adopting the function and having them periodically breeding but I feel that that would be way overpowered and would give a giant unbalancing affect to the game. Mobs such as cows, pigs, sheep etc. are meant to not be fully automated in my opinion.
I really think Mojang has made a bad move with making you have to trade with villagers to breed them, even more so with meddling with iron golem and village mechanics (no more village chaining trickery in the 1.8 snapshots, so bye bye Iron Foundry and Iron Trench!) and the fact that you now have to kill iron golems by hand to get iron from them (it IS possible to automate this, however, using eggs).
I get the feeling that Mojang wants less automation in survival Minecraft, which (for the most part) I think is a bad idea.
Sorry I just posted something not-very-relevant, I was just thinking about why this suggestion wouldn't exist if Mojang hadn't decided on this. Anyways, if Mojang does push these changes to 1.8, SUPPORT!

I know, this is definitely relevant so don't worry about that bit. I agree with all these points. I wish this change wasn't necessary as well. Villager mechanics shouldn't have been changed in my opinion, the iron golem farm change really got me down. Even in Docm's video, he sounded super depressed which kind of alarmed me. All these changes are in my opinion, ruining minecraft for me. What's next? Gold farms will be broken? Haste II mining will be nerfed? You could list so many things!
Full support from me! It would balance the game well, seeing you already killed the wither and gathered boat loads of iron and other stuff. Seems like u should be able to do this.

Back on topic from that sentence, I don't really use mass villagers for breeding. Or anything else mostly. But I guess support.
Thanks.

Anyways, support.

Oh dear, that sentence is going to haunt me for days.
This is the best solution, in my opinion. But Mojang seems pretty set with these villager plans. Hopefully they'll change their minds.

The love beacon is not an item of itself, it is a normal minecraft beacon, with the added functon (or powerup) of love.
Thanks for the support Ick!

I've already seen that, but thanks.
