So there occurs to me one problem with the silk touch enchantment, It cant keep a biomes colour for grass, vines and leaves.
That is why I am suggesting silk touch II. Its a simple enchantment, that's not overpowered in any way, and is purely for aesthetic purposes. It would have about two thirds the chance of getting as silk touch I. When anything like leaves or grass, that changes colour when taken into another biome, are broken with it, you will get that biomes version of the block (e.g. swamplands grass, or jungle vines, or taiga oak leaves) and in addition to this it works on snow covered grass, meaning we can all have lovely white grass without the actual snow.
This is a simple suggestion that would hardly affect normal gameplay, if the player did not want it to, so there is no need to rage and say "this is a horrible and should definitely not be added!". That's about it, so please say if you like this idea and if you don't like it, please say why, because people rage at me way to often.

I do not care about your dragon, I will not click it, it is not real, and I hope it dies in a fire.
That would add more versions of the same block (meta data probably). That would also cause huge problems determining biome type with multiple block types in an area. NO SUPPORT
Sounds good theoretically, but I would think that it would cause too many conflicts when checking biome type. Unless you have a way around that, no support.

It'd be easier to implement with cubic biomes. However, all you need to do is store a meta data tag that says what biome it was taken from. It can then be rendered as it should be. A client side mod could do this actually.
When i read the title i tought you would suggest that you could pick some "extra" items with a "better" silk touch enchantment. I even tought they could use silk touch 1 for a list of certain items and silk touch 2 for other items, for example S.T1 could pick grass, miscelium, stone and some other "basic" items, wile silk touch 2 could pick mushroom blocks (from the big mushrooms), glass and other more "complex" blocks.
Im not sure if your idea is possible (coding wise) but if it is i would support it.
I believe it would require grass blocks to store more data, but if it actually possible, then I fully support.

I'm not one of those coding people who knows everything about everything to do with things like this, but I imagine that every biomes blocks would officially be a different version of the block ( jungle grass, taiga grass, etc.), and when broken with anything but a silk touch II silk touch I tool, it will revert to its normal form, so just a regular dirt block, then with a silk touch I tool they revert to grass blocks, and with silk touch II they wouldn't change at all. As for the transition between biomes, you'll notice that if you open F3 the biomes change instantly, so there technically isn't any real transition at all.

This wouldn't be very possible, or would be too costly. Grass color is completely determinant on what biome it's in. For this idea to work, every single grass block would need a data value for every single type of green the blocks can have (and there's quite a lot of them). This also seems like a pretty miniscule feature for a whole 'nother level of Silk Touch.

May be hard to implement, grass/leaves in different biomes is the same block
