I was playing around with the Twitch™ functionality in the snapshot for 1.7.3, and I had an idea: TVs! Not TVs that connect to YouTube , but ones that connect to Twitch™ channels. They need to be within a certain range of a brodcast station to show what is being brodcast by the station. Stations can be assigned a number, tune a TV to this number to connect to it. Relays re-brodcast any station they pick up at the range of an iron brodcast station. Range rank goes: (16)< (32)< (64)< (128)< (256)
Crafting:
-TV:
lava is material diamond is ender pearl
-Screen Extender:
shroom is redstone
-Brodcast Station Antenna:
diamond is ender pearl
-Brodcast Station:
arrow is antenna lava is material, sroom is redstone
-Relay Station
diamond is ender pearl
Go ahead and give me feedback, I'm still working on this idea.
Pros:
-live coverage of large events on one server can be viewed on any server
-new dynamic for servers with curreny plugins
Cons:
-might lag servers

I don't really find this useful, as people actually come to servers to play. Not to watch live stuff happening.
Not to mention that I feel it's too modern. No support.

Well, this would make it so that you could relax after a day of mining by watching the spleef games going on in a major server without having to exit the one you're on. Also, is it "too modern" to actually have a use for those chests of redstone? To make screens out of stone? Minecraft is timeless. It's not medieval, nor space-age, nor any other time.
Minecraft has an 'menu' control key. From this 'menu' you can 'close' the game and use 'the internet'.
This is unnessecary complicated. No support.
First of all, you have bad grammar. Second, why the quotes? Are you being sarcastic? Third, you could just ask a broadcasting company to let you connect for an in-game money fee, or set up your own and get in-game money. (Not IRL money).

Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.

Minecraft is neo-medieval-fantasy (like LotR). Television does NOT fit that vibe.

For people bagging on this, think about CCTV's. That was a thing for a while, and it was accepted and loved by many. Of course, to improve, just make it so that the sound from the TV's or whatever a range thing, be within a certain amount of blocks to increase and decrease the volume.
-Also, think about Buildcraft and Industrial Craft just for starters. Minecarts and rails, they're fairly new, and I mean Metal carts/rails, not wood, may I add that ISN'T in Minecraft.
I support this, it could be an interesting idea, thought it might be a little difficult to overcome.

Minecarts and rail's are hardly new, they date back to the 1600s. TVs, on the other hand, have been around for about 70 years or so.

This is way too tech-y for minecraft. If I want to watch twitch.tv, then I will do so on the internet.
I don't know of any way to improve on this. Also, it is wise not to call the non-supporters "haters".

Guess I'll disagree with Yoshi here. Whatever minecraft's theme is, if indeed it has one (which I believe it does, sort of), some things just do not fit into minecraft.
Like nuclear fusion engines.
Or plastic.
Or solar power.
Or iPods.
Or television.
And even if I'm wrong, you've completely ignored the blatant lack of need for this suggestion.
Minecraft has an 'menu' control key. From this 'menu' you can 'close' the game and use 'the internet'.
EnderCreeper is wrong. You can use 'the internet' even without closing minecraft. It's called 'multiple windows'. I do it all the time. So you can watch twitch and mine, or fight monsters, or throw slime at other players at the same time.
This system is actually superior to your suggestion, because under your suggestion, to watch twitch you must stay in one place and not do anything to obscure the screen.

What's wrong with his grammar besides using the wrong symbols for quotation marks? And no, the quotes aren't for sarcasm.Twitch TV sucks though. Just more bloat in the game.

Phans is exactly right. Did you know you can host multiple windows at a time with literally any modern home computer? You may open a twitch stream whilst playing minecraft at the same time!

Using "an" instead of "a" is just one minor flaw. And misspelling is different from bad grammar.
Not everyone lives in the US where you use double quotation marks to show quotes or scare quotes.
I'm sorry, have you ever used a computer, Alex?
