I am okay with the addition of frogs. Even if they are simple and passive like the bat. I am still waiting on Mojang to add the little things that make the world more "alive" such as birds, frogs, mice etc. Personally I don't feel these passive mobs need more function than to add life to a fairly empty world. Too many mobs with functions would perhaps be too much but I am all in favor of adding life to Minecraft. Anyways, long rant over. Support
what will it look like? will it be green? will it have spots? are there different kinds? what will the spawn egg look like? how high or far can frogs leap? will they avoid you or just sit there when you approach them? would they make any noises such as crocking?
Sorry for a long long wait people I intend to stay on top of my thread now. I agree with you wesbug. Good questions black though I already explained what coulour they where. And yes Minecraft is a bit lonely vipertryx.
Maybe you could tame them and add flies? The flies would fly on you and eat an edible food you are holding.
The frogs would get rid of them.
I like this idea. You should add this to the main post to replace the potion of leaping idea. If the only real use of frogs is for potions of leaping, frogs will pretty much be useless. Rabbits drop their hide, meat, AND a potion ingredient for a potion of leaping.
Unless you add something to make them unique from rabbits, you have partial support from me.
Well, the Rabbits of Minecraft 1.8 currently supplies the means to brew the jump potion you speak of (i.e: potion of leaping), so I don't see them adding another mob to do so as well, for it'll be redundant. Though despite the rabbits application, I would have supported, but that's not the case now.
I still wouldn't mind Frogs as the next purely aesthetic mob though (like the Bat), they could rib-bit and crock adding to the submersion and over all liveliness of the game.
So; I only Support the Frog as an aesthetic mob, and not the potion part ('cause, Rabbits, yo' know...).
