This thread makes me wonder why they decided to make regular taigas snow-free, instead of simply adding a new snow-free taiga biome so that existing taigas would remain snowy (changing the biome name of the original taiga to "Cold Taiga" would be easy as names are only used in-game and not saved with chunks).
As for Extreme Hills, they could have just increased the temperature to avoid snow in the original EH biome, plus this would make the grass less blue-green (this can still be done, along with reversing the temperatures of regular/cold taigas; the temperature assigned to a biome is separate from the system that places biomes, so this wouldn't affect terrain generation).
I built my town in exterme hills, and build a palace in the sky. No problems untill 1.7 messed things up. I made A giant waterslide from sky to bedrock. I am constantly having to break The frozen ice blocks to make them flow as water source blocks again.
Full support. I remember having extreme hills biomes with no snow. It was ok i just want them back because they looked good. Still, i support you on that idea. And, the snow messes with all my water streams for my redstone stuff.
I agree with you 100%. I love the extreme hills, but hate snow. I was forced to open Minecraft on 1.6.4 to this day. I am getting further and further behind just because people decided that we should have snow on mountains. If it wasn't for that, I would have to stop playing minecraft. This is a dealbreaker.

Just stop it with your "I hate snow" bull crap, thats not good for improving a suggestions purpose. Just keep the snow line and raise it to y=110. Maybe even make the snow line a little more wavy to add more realism.
You got a problem with building your structures in snow? How about using a bucket of water to clear it our?
I hate snow with a passion! Infact, I think if they're going to throw snow on every mountain then they should have a minecraft option before you even start the game if you want snowy mountains or not. They have options for flatlands, they have options for the kinds of flatland you want, and I heard for later ones like 1.8 or higher, you can specifically ask for the biome you want. So, if you don't want snowfall, that should also be an option.
This was really a game ruiner for me. I can't find a mountain anymore without snow, and it's not fair! It used to me my favorite biome, now I don't even want to be near them.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
