In the new snapshot Extreme hills went through many changes, taller hills, stone and snow at higher elevations, trees, etc. But I noticed its a lot less random and less "extreme". I like the changes and yes I like how its less random. But now we barely have anymore crazy, random terrain. To fix I had the idea to leave 1.7 extreme hills as it is (or whatever mojang does to it) but rename it to "Mountains" because its a lot more mountainous. This also involves raising the generating height for both new biomes to around 200.
And Mojang should re-add the extreme hills as a technical biome such as frozen river, beach, and forest hills biome. Heres the wiki post on technical biomes: http://www.minecraft...echnical_Biomes
This is my idea on how to make the boring, flat terrain much more interesting.
I also have some example pictures that I made by editing the biomes (yea yea, they aren't very good):
Normal 1.6 extreme hills:
Extreme Forest hills:
Extreme Jungle hills (not much different than jungle hills though):
Extreme Desert hills:
Thats pretty much it, Leave some feed back with possible improvements/criticism.

I know, the examples aren't that great, but you get the point.
