in the options menu there should be a 2 buttons with links to the minecraft forums and the wiki this would let players find out a crafting recipie quicker and also report bugs quicker.
if this suggestion is to simple all i have to say its meant to be that way also if mojang made it so links would work in chat they could probally do this
I don't think this should be implemented into the game. However, buttons in the launcher would be much better.
Third-party links in a game are a no-no.

From what I have seen in other threads, I would just not respond to him. At the very least because he made his point and it is completely illogical. Unless he has something else to say, it doesn't make sense in talking about the same point anyways.
I like the idea, like a "Support" button in the options menu. It should have a link to the official site, the Wiki, the forums, and the official JIRA bug tracker.

I'm with shiny here. Having links to third party sources from in-game could open up potential security risks. People could distribute modified jars/alter the link paths to scam sites asking you for your user name and password, or worse. It's also worth noting that The forums/wiki are community, not developer, run. They may be approved/endorsed, but Mojang doesn't own them (pretty sure Curse own the forums). So again, third party source. If you're that lazy, set up a link shortcut on your desktop or taskbar. You can then go to any site you want in seconds.
Edit: don't forget that account security was already compromised once with migrated accounts. I'm not too fond of trusting Mojang to handle web-related things.

im pretty sure curse hasn't hacked anyone also the minecraft wiki is literaly a wiki.. and you can put links in chat already so why not this
I don't really think it's completely necessary to link to the forums. They might be cool, but they're hardly a necessary part of the game. xD
The wiki on the other hand, yes yes YES! Though I've memorized just about everything to do with Minecraft by this point, it would be beyond helpful to new players just learning the ropes. And if it's that much of an issue that MCWiki is third-party, they could always just make their own wiki, or take ownership of the current one.

I agree more with a "Links" or a "Support" tab. I was referring to naked text on the home screen reading "MCWiki" or "MCforums" and I think if the site names themselves were added there and not under a discrete tab, it would be an Infinity Ward move.
While there's no harm in this, I'd like to leave this separated merely for the "journey of discovery" argument. If you once-remove a few of the resources of players, they have a lower propensity to use those resources for first playthroughs which translates to improved satisfaction toward finding things out alone.
So I'll have to say no support due to simple principle.

While I'm no "they have to figure out how to craft a pick on their own" guy, I do think it is imperative that new players discover some of the "magic" of Minecraft for themselves. Mainly, the dangers of nighttime. If you understand all of the mechanics of monsters and the night, it simply isn't scary! You have a point, sir!

And monsters made of cubes that walk at you slowly are scary in the first place?

Third-party links in a game are a no-no.
Both sites are certified and supported by Mojang.
Still third-party.
That's like linking to a CoD community forum in Call of Duty Black Ops II.

Support is from Renzor-
"Wake me, when you need me."
