This is something that has been in my head for a while, working everything out & balancing it. I've even made models for it in Techne, so please read the entire post before you go to the comments & type "GUNS DON'T FIT MINECRAFT, SO NO SUPPORT!"
Anyways, this suggestion is about adding guns into Minecraft without them being too realistic, modern, & overpowered. While the two guns are quite resource intensive, the reward is worth it. In addition to that, they don't even employ the usage of things like bullet chambers or rounds. It just uses Ore blocks, fence posts, Droppers, & Dispensers.
The Didro gun is the lesser of the two guns, & is a little more affordable than the Didis gun. It is crafted like so:
Must edit. Come back tomorrow!]
Unlike it's brother, the Didis gun, this gun isn't fairly expensive, but it does compensate for that. It is only capable of firing TNT, Arrows, Water, Lava, & Sticky TNT. However, Lava & Water cannot be in the gun at the same time or else it will take 10 points of durability damage each time you try to fire. The gun has 300 durability, which is little more than it's brother, the Didis gun.
I bet right about now you are wondering "What's Sticky TNT? Is it something I can eat?" No, it is not something you can eat. It is simply TNT that has been covered in slime. The crafting recipe that follows is shapeless, so the slimeball & TNT can be placed anywhere:
Sticky TNT is mainly used for destructive purposes. Whenever Sticky TNT comes into contact with a solid block, it sticks itself onto that block & will destroy it, alongside quite a few of the blocks within it's radius. However, this is purely terrain damage & will not damage mobs. However, it will give all non-slime mobs 5 seconds of slowness. Meaning, that this form of TNT is useless against Slimes, so don't even bother trying to use it. However, normal TNT is purely damage directed. This means that There will be no terrain damage around it, although the same amount of a normal TNT block being activated will be afflicted upon the mobs within the blast radius.
Water & Lava can also be fired from the Didro & Didis guns. They are fired in a beam-like shape & will damage any mob it comes into contact with. Each individual shot requires an entire bucket of said liquid, & will last about 5 seconds, making these simple fluids a force to be reckoned with. However, Lava will catch a mob on fire & will damage it, while Water will push a mob pack & provide it with drowning damage.
Now that I am done talking about possible projectiles, I am going to talk about the big brother to the Didro Gun, the Didis gun. The Didis gun is simply a better version of the Didro gun, although it is much more resource intensive. it is crafted like this:
While the gun is quite resource-intensive (I love using that phrase), it is worth it in the end as more projectiles become available to you. Namely, an extremely powerful projectile called...Obsidian Blast.
The Didis gun is capable of firing projectiles more forcefully. TNT & Sticky TNT will travel farther, Arrows will do more damage, Water will push mobs much farther away, & Lava will cause a larger margin of damage. However, it only has 200 durability, which is quite a small amount for a gun of this magnitude. Now I am going to go on to the biggest feature of this gun...Obsidian Blast.
Obsidian Blast is what happens when Lava & Water come into contact with each-other in a gun. If you remember, the Didro gun took ten points of durability damage whenever these two came into contact with each-other. That is because Obsidian, when fired from a Didro gun, will go a much slower speed, giving the Obsidian time to cool into a block & jam the gun. However, the Didis gun is comprised of two dispensers, which are quite fast. Due to this, Obsidian blast is created whenever Lava & Water are inside of a Didis gun.
When Obsidian blast is fired at Water, it will immediately turn into a block of Obsidian due to cooling. Firing it at lava will do nothing, but waste a shot of Obsidian Blast. Firing it at a mob, however, has much different results. It will turn said creature into an obsidian statue of itself & will become breakable. When fired at a player, it will not turn them into a statue, but it will cause about 5 hearts of damage & it will slow said player. Mining an Animal or Monster statue will allow you to pick it up & place it in other places, effectively making statues.
Now, it's time to address some of the stupid posts that are commonly associated with Suggestion threads.
Everything in Minecraft can be used for griefing. Plus, this is just a stupid argument that people think of when they can't think of an actual reason for not supporting the thread.
I don't think it's all that OP for the amount of resources required. Yes, the Didro gun is pretty cheap, but the Didis gun isn't. I don't think a person who just created a new world already has enough diamonds to make a diamond block & a Pickaxe to get to the Nether.
That is actually a legitimate argument. However, I'm not even going to respond to posts like "Doesn't fit Minecraft, so go die in a hole". If you explain why it doesn't fit, I will try my best to tweak the suggestion based on it.
Lol, jk. This idea seems pretty complex and well thought out. I like the Didis gun, but the Didro guns crafting recipe dosen't show up for me, so I can't judge that yet. 1/2 support.
I don't know what happened to the Didro gun recipe. Although it is the same as the Didis, just replace the Dispenser in the middle with a dropper, the Diamond block with an Iron block, & the Nether Fence-post with a normal fence post.
An interesting suggestion, but the lava seems a bit too op.
It is the year, 2013. You are playing on your favorite pvp server. You have died many times, but now you have an ace up your sleeve.
The enemy approaches, silently sprinting and jumping towards you. As he runs toward you, you dodge his attacks and pull out your gun with a slightly funny name. LOL EAT WATER, [censored]! The water forcefully pushes him back into a corner, giving him some slight suffocation damage. As you have practiced, you know exactly when to pull out the next gun, this time chambered with lava. It continues to powerfully push the enemy back, giving him some serious burn damage and lighting him on fire.
Lol wasted my time typing this out..... anyways, this seems pretty cool, but I think it still is slightly OP.

Well, I guess that Lava could just light an enemy on fire & would be a one-time projectile with a cool-down of about 10 seconds before you can fire again. Is that better?

But then it would be completely pointless to use lava. Doing that would just drag it to the other side of the spectrum and leave it as a uselessly weak thing. Also, the 10 second cooldown would make no one want to use it even more.
Oh, and I will find a way to abuse anything in a PVP battle. I have pvp'd too much

Then how about it catches your enemy on fire & does 2 hearts of damage, although there is a five second cooldown after?

Or has a chance of melting in your hands.

It seems like it doesn't fit, the crafting recipes are weird, and it's too complex.
I'd like to see something like this but way simpler, like mobile dispensers (hence guns).
Wait, you're telling me I can fire full strength TNT that sticks to things long distances with a gun, and that it's NOT overpowered? Heck, if I joined the marines and they gave me a choice between a normal assault rifle and your gun, I'd be firing TNT at terrorists like there was no tomorrow. Saying it's not overpowered with your current description just isn't true. Plus, I honestly don't like the idea of guns in Minecraft, there are too many games with guns! Lets keep them out. Maybe bow customizations like the people above were saying.
No. This is an overpowered, game breaking weapon that simply can't exist without destroying the margin of balance Minecraft's PvP has managed to attain. I do have to give you credit for originality, but it's still incredibly overpowered, and being expensive does NOT justify or rectify that.

Instead of complaining its overpowered, give a suggestion how to make it more balanced.

Thank you for being on my side...a little.
If It'll make you people happy, I'll edit the post so that normal TNT is purely damage whilst Sticky TNT is purely terrain damage. Is that better in any way?
Too complex for Minecraft's logic, I mean Steve is jumping from tnt cannons, fireworks, and swords to flamethrowers, hand-held tnt cannons, and statue-making guns. And as mentioned earlier, even if it is made more expensive, it still wouldn't fit with the games logic and would still be overpowered nonetheless. No support.
I can't even make it balanced without basically ruining the suggestion.
Then give the idea how to make it balanced so we can see it.

Alright. Aimable TNT cannons are never balanced. Breaking into a base or destroying a building should never be as simple as point-and-click. Being able to shoot lava would give griefers wet dreams, although you make it seem like it doesn't actually shoot lava blocks, which is interesting. Does it spawn lava where it hits? Also, drowning damage ignores even enchanted armour, so I've got my doubts about that too.
Ignore these "guns don't fit Minecraft" fools, that's not the reason why this is unbalanced. It's just such an absurdly powerful weapon that no expense in Minecraft could really justify it. It would be cool to play around with for a while, but it's just broken.
