So I got this idea to day while making a base for PvP. What if there was a small GUI while writing on a sign that allowed you to choose what color the text you were typing was!? Obviously there wouldn't be every color and shade, but most of the basic colors like red, blue, yellow, black, and so on. This would make creating an adventure map a bit simpler for those who can't use hacks or mods! The. Theres the issue of the GUI and what it would look like, it could be just a simple couple of squares with the colors on them and when clicked they would change the color of text you type. Please, leave me some feedback it's much appreciated so that I could revise my description if I need to.
I support this, but how about not adding the gui?
Instead, like some colored text plugins, there should be symbols you can put before text to color it certain ways.
It's strange how support for coloured text hasn't been added yet.
I support this.

Support is there, you just can't use colored text in the game directly, you need an NBT editor or MCEdit filter.
You'd have to ask Dinnerbone for the full reason why, but I think it has something to do with multiplayer servers.
And also use the search bar, as this is redundant.
