I personally think that a great addition to the game would be a doGamePhysics command. It would prove to be useful for minecraft creative builders. What it would do is make it so that you could place blocks without them updating.
Some pros to this is you could place floating sand/gravel in the air, place sill water next to each other without them spreading, and placing ladders on blocks then removing the blocks to have floating ladders and so on.
This would be completely optional for players because it would be a game rule which could be toggled.
But what happened if you create a floating ladder and then switch the game rule? Will it update? Or will it stay floating?
Thats just an example, it can happened with many other stuff.

it wouldn't update until a block(or something) is placed next to it
no ones asking for custom spawners to be available in game. if people want to keep blocks from updating, use an editor
So you using your logic, we can't suggest new biomes because they are probably in a mod that adds more biomes. We can't suggest more animals because the More Creatures mod (or whatever it is called) has it covered. We can't suggest performance improvements because "just use Optifine".

this gamerule adds nothing to survival minecraft. if you're in creative then you can be bothered to switch to mcedit when you need to make floating sand blocks. i am not against any changes that add gameplay.
Sponges add nothing to survival, neither do command blocks, bottle 'o enchanting, chiseled stone brick, single player commands (unless you enable cheats, then your a cheater), spawn eggs, and every other gamerule, but they are in the game. Your logic is still invalid.

I like this guy. so many people disregard suggestions because they say that a mod already does it or you can do it in mcedit or something. that is a really stupid excuse. some people don't have the ability to use mods (like me).
I have full support with this idea! Yep. Dats a big yeah from me!
you can do all of this with mcedit. this is unnecessary.
Yes you can do it with mcedit however this would make it a lot easier.
What happens if you place a dirt near a floating sand by mistake?
It will give you the trouble of closing minecraft etc...

I wanted to be one of the cool kids.

"Wake me, when you need me."
I support, would be very useful to me.
Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
