I thought of a new idea, the Baby Witch. These are not spawned by breeding, yet are born by hitting a mushroom with a splash potion of healing. Once the mushroom is hit, purple swirls bubble above the mushroom's head for ten seconds, and turns into a baby witch. The baby witch is a smaller version of the witch. It holds it's potions with both hands and can not throw potions as fast or far. It has half the lives of a normal witch. The baby witch can also spawn if a mushroom is struck by lightning, or has any redstone interaction. The baby witch is neutral, just like the normal witch, but if it sees a witch fighting you, it will fight you too. A new feature that would be connected to this, is that if a huge mushroom is struck by lightning, than it will turn into a normal witch, meaning if you see a witch in a mushroom biome, know that the witch was spawned from a huge mushroom. So electricity + fungus = intelligent humanoid with a penchant for chucking potions.
There's a difference between sacrificing realism for gameplay and going completely off the rails of logic, and In my opinion this idea is firmly situated within the latter.

I think it's more of an annoyance than a good feature. The only thing I do support is lightning hitting giant mushrooms. But I don't think it even rains in mushroom biomes. (I might be wrong).
sorry no support. ):

Why are witches bad?

Above.
An alternate timeline emerges.
However, we must first start from the beginning...
Baby witch? Uh, kinda unsure about how that would look. No support sorry
