Really love this idea, I always thought that the world generation was odd because everything seemed so tiny. :T Mountains seemed more like hills and rivers seemed more like streams. If only this was a mod.
Support this is the best idea I have ever seen. I also think the worlds terrain is to small. If this were to be implemented into minecraft I would restart my whole server I own(mind you I have had this server for 2 years and we have so many epic builds)just to have larger biomes. It would be awesome to if the Temples and stuff would be a bigger generation to match the world! SUPPORT LOVE THIS IDEA!
Not sure if anyone's pointed this out, but Realistic World Generation does this.
Eh, Realistic World Generation seems to produce samey-terrain.
What really nullifies this suggestion however, are the custom presets. Look at the terrain I managed to get using thesilvercorsair's realistic world generation, (it makes hills too):
The things not covered by custom presets: River size, lake size, the possibility of making those mountains even bigger without getting something weird.

No? In fact, you can't change them at all, unless you count disabling them (the Wiki makes some claim about the upper/lower limit scales affecting cave generation but that is not true)!
Fun fact - Superflat allows for more customization of structures (villages, strongholds, etc, though not caves/ravines) than Customized does, despite being several years older; even ocean monuments can be customized - only a few minutes would be needed to add the necessary options to Customized (perhaps under a new page, "Structure Customization", similar to ores).
I Love every single bit of the suggestion, But mostly the rivers, The rivers in your images made me struggling to get this in customized world type.. I WANT EM..
The world height would possibly have to double because you might not have enough space in the world to build your house on top of a tall mountain or the space under the ground wouldn't have enough space for caves.
Bump. This thread seems 3 years old, and I would definitively support. This would be actually great at multiplayer, since it the resources tend to be scarce, due to limited space given.

I always wondered why did I learnt to code. But, I am too busy debugging.
You technically can change the river size in a custom world. Not by much, but you can change it from default size (4) to 5. Sorry if I am wrong. I don't often use the custom world thingamabob.
A diamond block for you for such an amazing idea!

I do think Mojang should add some player presets into the vanilla game, such as this and Jeffrey6978's Beta Terrain Preset.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
This is something that should definitely be included in the Large Biomes selection (I can see that you use WorldPainter).

This would be really neat.

I'm just a very boring person.
Try out realistic world gen mod for 1.7.10. It's hugely similar to this and is awesome
