This isn't what you think it is. This is for backup.

Ok, so there would be a new slot, back. You can place tools or weapons on the back slot. Once you use up the item in your hand, your hand will be filled with the thing on your back. Let me give you an example.

You are mining. You have to hold a pickaxe, but, you can put a pickaxe in your back slot. So when they pickaxe in your hand breaks, it will just switch to the one on your back.

Here's another example.

You are fighting monsters, but suddenly, you sword breaks!!! Just put a sword on your back! So when that one runs out, it will just switch to the one on your back, and you can keep hacking away at your enemies.

There are many times in the game when this would be useful. When a tool or weapon is on your back, you can actually see it on your back, slung across your back. So, in addition to being useful, it also looks cool! You can't place building blocks in it.

Not nearly as much as capes and packs.

Support. I realy want a new inventory slot for tools.

I like this idea. I hate when my sword breaks when I fight a creeper and don't have another one in my hot bar and I have to fight with my hands.
