Since I know programming in general, I can say that showing movies in a theater in MC would be far easier to program than trying to make the villagers perform even the simplest "play".
The screen size and orientation as well as the distance from projector to screen and position of the projector might all need to be fixed values, and the blocks you can construct the screen from might need to be restricted, but it could work the same way as the records work in the jukebox.
It's not necessary, but a lot of things in MC aren't necessary.
I wouldn't cry if it never came to be, but I also can't see any reason for rejecting it out of hand as some here seem to have done.
From a programming standpoint, a projector and playing a movie would indeed be easier, but the complications arising from a play simply come from adding scripts; since scripts are already in place in MC, it would be a simple extension of that; in effect, plays would be easier, simply requiring the use of scripting tools that are already present.
I thought the same, it would add some variation to villages while not being too out of place.
I really don't understand the reason for a movie theater though. Should we add bath houses for them to visit as well? Should they have kitchens were they cook food at day time? Should villagers occasionally gather at a town square and protest against the rising emerald taxes?
Adding flavour and minor useful things to villages is a nice addition, but making villages act as an independent entity seems unnecessary. I'm sure there are plenty of mods for turning Minecraft into a general rpg, but that is not the direction I want the game to go.
yeah, The idea is, we have enough buildings already, if anything I'd like some sort of barracks. Maybe have them spawn guards.
