Hello, my idea is the return of the human mob, that we've all been accustomed to in Minecraft Classic.
Before I go on I would like to mention, that the Steve mob is available for download in mods, but not nearly all Minecraft players do or even know how to mod the game. Modding can be difficult with the Forge version, 7-zip, WinRAR, and Jar files, especially for new users to Minecraft.
The return of the human mod, preferably to be added/replace the villagers that we all know look like "squidwards".
Features of the New Steve Mobs Included:
Ability to pick up weapons and armor (like zombies or skellies)
Ability to fight all hostile mobs (with the exception of the creeper)
Neutral to the player but will attack in self-defense
Ability to wield bows and fire arrows
Perhaps, the new Steves will make the game less "lonely" for those players in Singleplayer Mode.
Minecraft was made for you to explore alone, and if you don't want to explore alone, they have made multiplayer servers for you to be able to play with friends, so being lonely shouldn't be an issue. Also, it would take a lot of work to make the human mob AI so advanced that it would actually be productive, and not be just another annoying NPC to follow you around and clutter up space.
I feel this is unnecessary, and would be just another mob people would whine about it making Minecraft terrible, like they do with everything they ever add, no matter what it is.
If the mobs were incredibly rare(maybe like 1 per world) and their AI was so advanced that they would behave almost like a real player(build a house, tame a wolf, fight the wither, steal from villages) then I would support. Still, this would probably be better as a mod rather than a feature in vanilla because I feel like a ton of people wouldn't think it fits Minecraft so no support, sorry.
Yes, keep the villagers! Especially after their recent update that gave them funny sounds. I could just laugh hearing them talk while I steal their crops and kill their iron golem.
Yes, I do agree that that it would take a lot of work to create the advanced villagers. Spawn Eggs would be the optional response to spawning them. Kaleki seems to be the most knowledgeable here about how they would in the actual game. But honestly, I don't see why we don't have more advanced AI that don't run into walls or fall into ravines. I mean this is 2013, more advanced AI existed even in the early 90s, so I would call our current AI rather primitive.
Hmm well I am mixed on one hand I see what people are saying about how minecraft is meant to be played alone and how it would make the game lag. On the other hand villagers are very unintellegent and unrealistic. Partial support.

If there is a steve mob he would be rare (A few per world) and neutral to you, also there could be a setting allowing him to spawn or not to spawn. I still give full support :D.
I've concluded that the villagers are nothing but Squidward inbreds with humans. I mean, look at them. Big nose, narrowed eyes etc. The sounds especially do have a Squidward tone to them. So I just think they're all squidward.
