So my idea is gauntlets. These would be rather cheap to make. I think 2 of whatever material you are using in the bottom corners of your crafting area.
Should it be used in the Chestplate slot? Or a new slot for gloves? Or should it be a tool such as swords and bows? Answer in the poll above.
Personally, I like this idea because there is nothing covering your hands in combat and I think there should be. And it makes the armour set look complete.
Tell me what you think using the poll or comments. Thanks
and?
Look. I like this idea. It's cool, simple, and wouldn't be to hard to make. But you need to add detail. What do they do, what do they look like, why do you think they should be added? You need to ask yourself these questions and more! I like the idea, but it is just the basics, just the skeleton. You need to add the inner workings, the clockwork! ADD DETAIL!
Eehhh... It's a decent idea, but it doesn't seem to offer too much in the long run other an extra aesthetic thing on the player. The armor system and slots we have is pretty well rounded as is and a 5th article of armor may not squeeze in there so good.

How much do they protect? Using only 2 of the resource, they would have to be pretty awful. Making it awful wouldn't be worth our time. I am suggesting improve the crafting recipe.
You should deal extra damage while wearing metal gauntlets.

Honestly I think the entire armor system needs revising, You shouldn't be able to get a full set of the second best armor in 3 mins.
There should be pieces of armor like stated above, and every armor piece would require leather bindings etc.
So a full set of armor would take about 50 iron and some leather instead of 23ish iron. A full set of diamond armor would take a while to get, like it should be.

Since Current armor gives 8% per full point, and you can max out at 80% currently, this leaves enough room for 3 more armor, so how do you balance the new armor accordingly? Obviously, since they're the cheapest to make, they'd likewise have the lowest protection, but how do you determine this?
I recommend altering it to a more useful effect.
While parrying with guantlets equipped, the amount of damage and knockback you incur is dramatically reduced.
leather - 25% ( take 37.5% of total damage, with full diamond, 7.5% of damage)
iron - 50% (take 25% of total damage, with full diamond, 5% of total damage)
gold - 25% (take 37.5% of total damage, with full diamond, 7.5% of total damage)
diamond - 75% (take 12.5% of total damage, 2.5% of total damage)
If an attack were to do lethal (20) damage, a fully diamond player that parries would take 0.5 damage instead (1/4 of a heart)
This would make sword parry much more useful and allow melee removal of skeletons, and actual planned defense.

If this idea did go through, then it would most likely require some GUI updating, be it a tab in the main, or another GUI in general.

I agree! I'll support if the gauntlets do extra damage. We could finally punch enemies while doing some decent damage.
How much protection would
