I am just curious as to why I am not able to leave a world without saving it. Sometimes I just goof around on my worlds and I do not want what has happened to be saved. I play the xbox version mostly simply for this feature. Is there a way to do this on the pc version?
No, unless you use mods. For example: You could use Optifine to set the autosaving to a high increment (such as 3 minutes or 30 minutes), then always exit out by clicking the red X instead of clicking Save and Quit to Title. Also, this isn't the right forum for a topic such as this one.
Edit: As stated by Stealthman917, you could Alt + F4 instead of clicking X.
Start menu --> %appdata% --> .minecraft --> saves --> right click the world you want to save --> click "copy" --> right click on the desktop --> click "paste"
Now your world should be saved. The copy you just put on the desktop is your good/non-messed-up copy. Now just log onto Minecraft and goof around in the world you saved. When you want to restore your world, exit like normal and do this:
Drag the file from the desktop back into the "saves" folder in ".minecraft" --> click "yes" on the Comfirm Folder Replace pop-up --> continue clicking "move and replace" on the Move File pop-ups --> continue clicking "yes" on the other Comfirm Folder Replace pop-up

How do I died in lava and lost lots of diamonds and then just shutted-down my computer from the button and everything saved?
