Your idea is cool but can you try to make the villages not looking like recoloured overworld villages. And I got an Idea try to make most pigmans can fight back.

And if you need any help, I can make for you some models or maybe textures...;)

How about for the golem, you give it a fiery effect around it, (like a charged creeper, but red) just to make it looks sick, and add a tone of power to it? Also, can I create this golem?

After reading through this again, here's my suggestions:

1. Houses should be made of netherbrick and quartz, no netherrack

2. Nether Bread could give Fire Resistance for an extremely short time, 15-30 seconds

3. The gold golem's head should also be slightly shorter, since the Iron Golem's head is taller like villagers

4. Pigmen should have the appearance of a living pigmen with a loincloth. The loincloth's color would change depending on profession, and the blacksmith/butcher would have aprons. They also would have their arms down, and they would walk like players

5. Pigmen should trade with gold nuggets instead of quartz

6. Lamp posts should be made of two netherbrick fences and a single block of glowstone, and most/all houses should have one piece of glowstone inside the ceiling

7. Why would only zombie pigmen have golden swords? If you provoke a pigman, it should have a 65% chance of running away, and a 35% chance of defending itself. Farmers would use golden hoes, librarian's and blacksmiths would use golden swords, alchemists would use potions, butchers would use golden axes, and priests would use golden pickaxes (The tool of Notch). If you back off at least 8 blocks from the pigmen it will loose hostility and return to its normal business, in case you attack by accident.

You know, if the villager pigmen have a brewing room like in post 1, we can assume that they have their secret arcane alchemy skill, like turning quartz into gold or gold nugget. You know, real life alchemists aim to turn copper into gold, so we can assume as a rule of thumb that villager pigmen brewed gold nuggets from the Nether minerals, it make more sense. Also, a golem to protect pigmen villager is boring and not unique, as the largest threat to villager pigmen is the player, or a Wither. How about we make zombie pigmen spawn as guards to the pigmen villager, the number of zombie pigmen spawn is a ratio to the number of villagers. If the player reputation is low on a village, the zombie pigmen can chase and kill the player, like an iron golem.

The second reason I don't think that a golem will work because golems tend to view all hostile mobs as threats, and will try to tackle all hostile mobs it could find.Back to the issue, when we kill a zombie pigmen, we can get gold nuggets and sometime gold ingots, right? We can assume that's the payment of pigmen's villages to act as a guard for them, so it make sense, don't you think? So we should make zombie pigmen guards of pigmen village. Pigmen villagers can also drop gold nuggets/ingots if the player kill one, counting as a robbery.

About the crops and farms of the pigmen villager, I think we don't need to invent new, exotic plants to act as the village's food source. Just make pig villagers farimg mushrooms, because mushroom are naturally generated in the Nether, correct? They can eat mushroom soup on a golden bowl, or whatever way that suit them, they're pigs after all, but the importance is that we don't need to care about it anymore, right?

Hey, can you make the pigmans fatter, tougher and stronger than the player.

And make the village buildings all custom (Not recoloured default villages), I can help building anything as much as you want.;)

I support this idea, i hope mojang some how sees this.

I especially like the idea of Zombie Pigmen attacking the Pigman Villages. Since Zombie Pigmen are really hard to kill, I think that you should give the player a better reason to kill them by making Pigmen trades better than Villager trades. Then it would be worth defending them, adding an element of challenge to the Villages. Especially since those things spawn so often...

I've followed your idea for quite some time now and I really don't see this being put in game to terribly soon but I think you should talk to greenshoes over on the NetherX thread because these ideas would be a great addition to his/ your mod.

I am necro-bumping this thread as it one of the more detailed nether village threads, and I like nether villages and other structures to make the nether worth exploring! I mostly support this, minus custom chests, furnaces, doors, and anvils.(Functional blocks)

OMG!! I would so love the nether if this was implemented, perhaps an back story off how they were forced off the over world by the ender dragon who they finally defeat and imprisoned him between obsidian pillars in the end???

Edit: Meh, don't like the items, makes sense to have nuggets as they defeat a dragon and stole his loot ^^^ yet the village itself is a good idea

I think this should be added but in baby steps to see how it goes just pigmen villages zombie attacks and maybe like golden nether wart or new nether plant for cure and a hell horse to feed. I think my staff idea for mob heads and custom enderpearls needs more coverage its on small suggestions page 407 lol

Minecraft has NO backstory. The player makes the story all by himself.

Backstories will turn Minecraft into a RPG.
