The Story
I was searching stuff about the resource pack and I learned you can edit the credits too, and I had an idea that we could use those for adventure maps (like crediting the map maker, etc.), but I was thinking:
"Wait, you have to go to an end portal, jump to The End, jump to the other end portal to enter the overworld, and read the credits?"
I thought that was too much work, so why not create a command that works just like /playsound, except for the credits?
The Suggestion
/playcredits and /playend
Why name them like that? Because if you look at the "texts" folder of the Minecraft, you would see those .txt files.
How They Work
Just type in the command or put it in a command block, and it will take you directly to the credits (either the Minecraft credit or the other complicated credit after you killed the dragon). That's it.
How About Servers?
Well, it's not that complicated, really. It all depends on what resource pack you use. That's all :S
If you use -for example- a modified resource pack with a modified credits roll, then it will be different from the other resource packs other players can use.
Alternate Suggestion
Here's an alternate idea if you don't like the first idea:
I was thinking of instead making the command "/playtext", which is just like the command "/playsound".
Example:
/playtext <.txt> <@p/@r/@a>
It can work with the splash screens, which will select a random splash and say it. I didn't put much thought in this idea because it sounded complicated.
Uses
/playcredits
Resource Pack makers can credit themselves by putting their name somewhere :|
Map Makers can use it as their credits part for the map, maybe even putting a "The End?" in the ending.
/playend
This one can be like a post-map script-type thing... ya know? Like those post-credits from Marvel movies.
/playtext - the alternate suggestion, if you read it.
"/playtext splash @p" - plays a random splash. You could change the texts of the splash.txt and make it tips. Then, you could use it to activate random tips for your map.
"/playtext scene1 @a" - pretend I made a .txt file named "scene1". It contains a giant script, so that I don't have to type all of the words in the command block. (I'm not sure whether we can add a second paragraph. I don't know how Text Documents work)
Seems like a good idea. Support.
In addition, like custom .ogg files with /playsound, it would be cool if map-makers could use custom .txt files with this new command.
Support. This would be cool for the end of a map, where it reads out something, or for the /playtext command it could act as a map where papers are scattered around the map.

Yup. You don't need to replace any files, you can just add custom files just like the /playsound, which you can activate sounds not even in the game, but in the resource pack's sound folder.
^I'm pretty sure you can do that. I haven't tested that yet though...

Yeah... I don't really know how that could happen :S but I'm pretty sure some redstone genius can try to do that.
