When I got the new 1.6 update, I was impressed that they managed to add horses into the game. I spawned one in using creative mode, and tried to tame it. I was surprised that it wasn't like taming other creatures. You couldn't just feed it an apple and have it love you. After 20 minutes, I finally managed to tame it. So what do you guys think? Should horses be easily tamable by just feeding it an apple or something of the sort, or should it stay the same?
Taming needs to be more skillful. Not just constantly right clicking. It needs to have some aspect of gradualness. Perhaps for the first 100 metres you ride, it is hard to steer and the horse constantly veers off course. Then gradually you tame and control it.
No. Horses are a fast and controllable way to travel. Just feeding it something is too basic and easy. This method should stay "difficult".
You're overexaggerating that "twenty minutes later" thing. The chance of successfully taming a horse increases each time it bucks you off, so if you're really unlucky, it should take you around three minutes.

"On a scale of one mile to Lord of the Rings, how far did you walk today?"
That came out... a little bit wrong, don't you think?
Hard?
Actually, more than that, i'd prefer if taming was more interesting.
