Since crucibles are near useless, maybe the ability to remove enchantments from tools? This would be very useful if you get a horrible enchantment, but don't want to use a second diamond pick to wipe it.
(PS, I was writing a HUUUUGE suggestion that added a whole new gamemode, in depth and everything, and it got wiped when I pressed backspace :c I hate shortcut buttons! D:<)
Enchantments aren't meant to have a "If you don't like it, you can re-roll" system. Hence why we can't see the enchantments we're about to get beforehand. I can't imagine a magical enchantment on a weapon would just "wash off". This is also why you want to collect as much XP levels as you can, which increases the chance of getting more than one enchantment and possibly the one you wanted.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.

There's already something like this implemented in-game. If you throw your enchanted sword into a lava source block, the lava will destroy the enchantment and allow you to re-enchant the object. True story, just try it.

Oh, sweet! Sorry for making this :D. Works perfect.
But I do hope you realize, for the future maybe, if you hit backspace and you didn't want to do that hit Ctrl + Z.
Undo button, there's also a little "Undo" button on the tool bar above the post box.
So, you could have saved it haha, but eh maybe next time.

No, I didn't remove any text, I backspaced to the previous page and it erased everything on my editing page :c
Being able to selectively remove some enchants on an enchanted item would allow players to kind of totally bypass the cost of enchanting stuff through books (you get more enchants when enchanting items directly instead of going through books, AND at less XP cost AND you automatically get the category of enchant desired. So that would make it kind of a lazyman's feature.
Anyway, getting XP is harder than getting diamonds, unless of course you cheat using the obvious XP mob grinder exploit, in which case you might as well cheat too using X-Ray or Not Enough Items mods to get your diamonds.
The game basically is balanced so that unless a player is a superb pro, almost never getting hit by hostile mobs, then a player can never hope to gain XP at a speed sufficient to simply constantly repair and maintain his "perfect set of sword bow tools and armor" to be able to use it all the time, so the player must make a choice of when to use those super powerful items, and simply use the lesser items or even simple iron the rest of the time.

Ah, petty trollery, it pleases me.
