Advanced breeding is something I have always wanted since I discovered you could breed things in the first place. Advanced breeding would implement certain traits to certain 'breeds' of animals. There are no gender changes, as Minecraft is supposed to be gender-less. Now, these breeds of animals could be bred together to make even better animals, with certain percentages, of course. You could even make a super cow that drops tons of leather and meat!
How would you know what the animal's traits are?
No, machines would not be added. Simply a small graphical change in the models of the animals. Maybe a leather-dropping cow would be more orange, and a meat-packed cow would be a bit bigger. Or combined, a big, orange, super-cow!
Examples of breeding
Fat chicken: Two normal chickens; small chance - Drops more chicken
Fluffy chicken: A normal chicken and a fat chicken; small chance - drops feathers regularly*
Parent Chicken: A fat chicken and a fluffy chicken; small chance - drops eggs VERY frequently*"
*Depending on the percentages in the parent chickens
"Kind of weird that two 'parent' chickens make the "Parent Chicken"
Why would this be useful?
This would be useful because sometimes, you just wanted feathers for arrows, or leather for books, but you just never had enough. With this addition, chickens could drop feathers regularly, and cows could drop a large amount of leather upon death. Customizing your animals would just add so many more possibilities for redstone contraptions and breeding machines, also giving them more use.
Thank you for reading my suggestion, please leave some feedback, positive or negative, I do not care, but it will all lead to the betterment of my suggestions.

I am aware this has been suggested before, but I do not believe they went in this direction. I'm pretty sure every one made had male and female, and just different mobs.
It has good development and detail behind it, but in the long run, I don't see the need to implement this. I mean, we already have the theoretically infinite resources from passive mobs when we just keep breeding them non-stop, so these advanced animals of yours would overspoil players.
For example: You got an adequate sized chicken farm, but on top of that, you got one of those parent chickens in there. Which means that you'll have normal chickens giving you eggs once in a while and this parent chicken giving eggs like no tomorrow.
