Rivergrl1 & I built the Beetlejuice, Railbusters & Minecart of Malice roller coasters all on the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. For 7 months we used the Xbox controller to build. We have spent the last month building on PC and we have an issue/suggestion that we have come to find out we share with many others.
Flying drift in Minecraft PC creative mode is slowing us down. The Xbox version of Minecraft (4JStudios) has done away with flying drift and IMO increased accuracy when building in creative.
Having had over a month of building experience on the PC version I realize that it's not about me getting used to the drift. Having compared both Xbox and PC versions of flying while in creative, XBOX takes the cake for accuracy and efficiency when building block by block (not talking about any other feature, worldedit, etc).
Is there any way to remove the drift that happens when coming to a stop while in fly mode on the PC version?
I have realized that what I want is the computing power and versatility of the PC version of Minecraft with the smooth & accurate control scheme of the Xbox 360 Minecraft.
I have no opinion on whether or not this is implemented. I think the reason the Xbox doesn't have drift is because it's harder to stop moving with the joystick than with the keyboard.
However, if you're impatient for it to be added or it doesn't get added, you can try installing an Xbox controller to run with Minecraft. I'm not sure if it'll accomplish what you want, but I can't find an actual mod so far which removes flying drift.
Edit: SmartMoving may have it, but I'm not sure. Remember this is only if you don't want to wait or it doesn't get added.
@neospector I have already installed and do use an xbox controller that I use on PC. Although I have not been able to fine tune it so that movement is as smooth as on Xbox.
@Talons The reason I posted it here is because I do want the "slipperiness" to be changed. Why can't we have it be a function that you can toggle on or off? I suggest that this would be a welcome change, especially for those of us who have experienced a more accurate building experience without the "slipperiness" or drift.
