In large caves, bats sometimes scare the breath out of me as they flit by my face.
Okay, now you can either kill them and waste durability (and/or arrows), or you can leave them alone.
I think they should at least drop bat wings, though rarely, and these may be used in potions.
I have a different take on what these little wings should do when you drink them (lol, gross!).
Potion of waning (3:00) and (8:00)
-Chug this baby and Steve, or whoever you are, is now half the size he should be (1 block tall).
-Not only are you shorter, and slimmer, but you are half as strong, and half as fast when moving.
-By half as strong, I mean your attacks do half as much damage.
-By half as strong, I mean you receive double damage (armor still reduces damage taken).
-By half as strong, I mean you are knocked back twice the normal distance when you're hit.
-By half as strong, I mean you jump half as high and you dive half as deep.
-By half as strong, I mean you take double falling, drowning, and burning damage.
-Mobs now notice you less, at (guess what?) half the normal distance (including ghasts).
-Gazing upon endermen in this reduced state will still intimidate them (lol).
-Squid will now become hostile to you (they will mercilessly ram into you).
-Bats will now become hostile to you (they will swarm you and bite you until you're in a million pieces).
-You will still be able to place and harvest blocks at a normal pace.
-The splash potion of waning could be thrown at players, animals, mobs, Enderdragons, Whithers, etc.
-When the potion wears off, you grow back to your normal size and strength.
-When the potion wears off while you're in a 1 block tall area, you will suffocate till death.
-If you're adjacent to a 2 block tall area whilst under a 1 block tall tile, you'll be pushed into the taller space.
Potion of waning (1:30)
-All the effects mentioned above, but intensified.
-Yes, you are now a quarter of the normal size you should be (1/2 a block tall).
-Not only are you a quarter of your normal size, but you are so, just as strong and fast when moving.
-Mobs don't notice you at all (including ghasts).
-Endermen aren't intimidated by your size.
-Squid eat you whole at this size, armor doesn't even matter.
-Bats will eat you whole at this size, armor doesn't even matter.
-You will still be able to place and harvest blocks at a normal pace (which doesn't make sense, oh well).
-This version of the potion will only work on you and other players.
-By jumping a quarter of a block, you may think, what's the use? Well, you'll still be able to escape water.
-When the potion wears off, you will grow back to your normal size and strength.
-When the potion wears off while you're in a 1/2 block tall area, you will suffocate till death.
-If you're adjacent to a 1 block tall area whilst under a 1/2 block tall tile, you'll be pushed to the larger tile.
-Then, if you're adjacent to a 2 block tall area whilst under a 1 block tall tile, you'll be moved to the ↑.
An appropriate rate of drop for bat wings should be about 1% (Keep killing those bats!).
I think that has to be my greatest idea to date (no doubt, no doubt in my mind).
As always, viewers and comments are appreciated, thanks for your time and/or criticisms and support.
I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
Sorry, I never even looked at your topic man, but YOUR idea is completely DIFFERENT compared to mine...
Plus, your idea was never as specific and interesting.

I can see some hilarous scenes in my mind. Most certaintly support.
Also, while at a shrinked size you should be able to climb up blocks slowly, just so you can navigate.
