Really people? Why don't you just click this topic! Oops.....sorry did I forget to make the name pretty or is this topic glitched?
It's only been an hour.. But for the suggestion, I really don't like it to be honest.. It would make living in a snow biome even more tedious, same with the desert. Soooo.. no support.
(Also, what effects would you get if you were in a Mushroom Biome/Ocean?)
Mushroom Biome: you get hunger slower because your on an island made of mushrooms so your breathing mushroom air.
Ocean: when your on a boat you sometimes get motion sickness which makes an effect like when going to the nether.Oh ya and I don't know about you but I hate living in snow and I this topic wouldn't change anything for meAbout living in snow
Funny I made something similar to this, but only for the desert and snow biomes(dont worry not mad)
My suggestion was that if you wore armor during the day in a desert that your food bar would drain quicker
And in the ice if you DIDNT wear armor ge food would drain quicker
I am stumped with your title. "Potion effects?" "Oh here's a potion of extreme hills" Thats what I thought b4 I read it. Plus thirst and frostbite have been suggested a million times. For swamp you wouldn't need potion effect you could use something like void fog. And for the plains, far render distance already fades out nothing. You can set it to what you want. Plus that would crash a lot of computers. For the extreme hills, why punish the entire biome rather than just high spots? Plus I never heard of a person being nauseous because of being 100 meters above sea level. Denver is a mile high! And if the nether was anywhat realistic you'd burn to a crisp just being there. And the devs said that they had not planned to correlate the end with the moon or a distant planet.

Each biome will have an effect on you or your character. It would make you faster or slower...effects like that.
These would be the effects.
Desert: in real life you get dehydrated but there is no water you drink so it would make hunger come a bit faster.
Jungle: you are a bit slower than normal because of the humidity and heat in real life which makes you tired.
Forest: you use tools a bit faster in the forest because of the breathe of fresh air.
Plains: increased render distance due to the flatness.
Extreme Hills: rarely dizzy for a few seconds because of the altitude.
Snow: you can uncommonly get frostbite which makes you lose a couple hearts.
Swamp: makes the render distance slightly shorter because of the fogginess.
Nether: you run faster due to the extreme suspense of the distorted figures and lava surrounding you.
End: you can jump 1 block higher than normal because of the space like look and magic atmosphere.
I think these would make the game more challenging and also interesting.
