This is just an idea I had to give a minor or major increase in difficulty for players. Foods would have a certain time period to be eaten before they begin to spoil. Spoiled food would be either uneatable or have reduced properties. Please tell me what you guys think.
Only if they add a fridge to keep them from spoiling (perhaps you could power it with redstone, it is the minecraft equivalent of electricity, after all) Also, since when was uneatable a word? Usually people say inedible :l

They should do this, or make salt to make foods last longer.

I would rather not see this in-game, as once you have food, you shouldn't have it taken away from you. You earned it, you get to keep it; it shouldn't go anywhere just because you don't use it. I wouldn't necessarily dislike an idea that made collecting food more difficult, but making storage more difficult does not seem to me like a wise addition.
