In the situation of hunger games or survival games, I think there should be some form of easier dropping feature such as holding Ctrl and right clicking to throw items onto the ground.
Ctrl+Mouse1 drops the entire stack of the item clicked
Ctrl+Mouse2 drops one of the item in the selected stack
There could also be a pickup feature filtering what items you can pick up from the ground. Under options you could have a menu of food, building blocks, combat, etc. The player would be able to select the items that he/she does NOT want to pick up to avoid a cluttered inventory. Also, each category could have a drop down menu so they could either select the entire category, or just specific items. This feature would be overridden if the player were to take that item selected from a chest.
I think this would be awesome for inventory organization and simplify everybody's lives.
Well I think this should be a sort of gamemode or something, so that it's controlable, and not abused.
But overall, great idea, I can understand the annoyance in hunger games and the amount of time it takes to get certain items
A whole game mode for two small inventory tweaks? Really?
Anyways, I like the drop options but not so much the automatically picking up or not picking up things. It kind of seems like it would be getting too deep in menus. Creative Inventory is already pretty bad but having to go through each item and check or uncheck a little box would just kind of suck. I'd say implement the first idea but not the second because with the first idea at least dropping the trash loot will be even easier.

Yeah, the pickup options aren't all that great. I was mainly focusing on the dropping items feature for simplicity, especially in survival/hunger games.

I second that motion. You can completely do without the item filters.
True, but only for one at a time of the item equipped (Q) or from being in a menu, picking up a stack of items, and moving them outside the menu and clicking again which is tedious.

I'm not talking about the "Q" button function. I'm talking about when your full inventory is open and removing items with simplicity instead of dragging and dropping all over the place and taking an hour to do it.
I guess that feature is there. However, to my understanding, it only drops one of that item at a time. I just think that the Ctrl+Mouse1 or Ctrl+Mouse2 create an easier interface. But, that might just be me.

Nope he was right. You just hover over and press Shift+Q. I guess I haven't been paying attention the last few updates.
