Currently, the only interactions between red logic and the tracks are one way. we need some sort of way for mine-carts to activate red logic. Perhaps a minecart that bumps into a button on the wall activates the button.

That would be an interesting addition. If you made a minecart entrance to your base, they wouldn't be able to stop the minecart from hitting the pressure pad-track and turning on a warning light. If you put a pressure pad straight on the ground, then they can hop right over it to avoid it. This way, it is completely unavoidable. There are probably other uses here, but this is all I can think of right now. :biggrin.gif:
You can make a track switch that switches after every cart, or a T junction that switches to receive incoming carts from either branch(how do mine carts handle coming at a t junction from the wrong way?)

They glitch across it, but ultimately continue going.
How unfortunate... I was going to have this incorporated into a bank system. :/
Since that is obviously buggy, I would assume it will get fixed at some point. Whether The fix will remove the direction confusion or make it stop at the break in the track I don't know; I can see reasoning for either solution.
Would really like to have a pressure plate/track combo, perhaps craftable by placing a track piece over a pressure plate variety of your preference. At present, the only ways of activating pressure plates with mine carts involve derailing or otherwise slowing down the cart considerably. There are other "glitchy" ways of getting a corner to run over a pad near a bend in the track, but they're unreliable, and doesn't work with stone pressure plates for rider detection, at least not on SMP.
They have this discussed in Minecarts MK II (Link in the sig). They purpose a block that detects minecarts on all 6 facings and activates Red Stone on the remaining faces. That way you can place it below, above, or to the sides of the track at your leisure. They have 2 kinds of blocks for mob filled and non filled. And (already implemented) is when a track connecting to 2 other tracks is activated by redstone it switches. With a little rigging you could have yourself a nice system. (They also provide ideas for booster/ break tracks, and full stop tracks, go check em out!)

Yes you can, and also use levers to change intersection tracks.

for that to work you'd have to derail minecarts, wouldn't you? A minecart-track/pressure pad combo would be nice, for example.
Will test later if no-one else does.

The recipe could be like this:

[] [] Where is track, and is pressure pad
