I don't know about you guys, but I personally use skincraft to create my skins. What I'm suggesting is that Mojang implement a skin maker into minecraft (preferably one that can let us make HD skins) so we can be more creative in regards to how we look. I'd love to add more detail to my skin so, not to mention it would let us all be a little more unique. What do you think?
Tons of people have already made skin makers if you just search the interwebz. Why does mojang need to make another one?
I'm talking about a proper HD one that everyone can use. I've actually never seen any minecraft players with HD skins. I'm talking 32x32 not our 7x7 (or something like that) skins we have now.
Ours are 16x16 and I don't want everyone to have HD skins normally. It ruins the immersion. Would you like it if you were playing Call of Duty or something in HD and suddenly an enemy popped up that looked like an Atari 2600 character? No. It breaks immersion.

Immersion? Minecraft is about allowing a player to excercise his/her creativity, not for them to adhere to your concept of "immersion". Allowing people to have more complex skins means that they can be a little more creative in the way they look. Sure, this will be exploited in some way, but it will allow people to express themselves in the way minecraft is supposed to let them; without limitation. Anyway, we're not talking about COD (I hate COD), we're talking about minecraft. And there is such a thing as a HD texturepack. It breaks the "immersion" for me when I can't change my skin to something that resembles the resolution of the pack.

I just feel that a game is better if it's immersive. It feels better if everything is the same resolution. Why not play a game where everything else is in high HD but then there's this one character that's just a colorless square that floats around? IT DOESN'T FIT. Why not reskin bows in minecraft to make them look like howitzers? IT DOESN'T FIT.
You guys are missing the point. I'm saying that this would be an option readily available for those who wanted to use it. In other words, it could be used in story maps, mods, and other things. Mulan15262 is just being stupid now... and your idea of immersion is completely subjective. Some people like it when they can have a higher resolution on their character, even if the world blocks are in low rez.

Some people want it, Some people don't, How about everyone has a regular skin, but have the option to use higher res, SO for people who don't want higher res, It will use the regular size

I feel this way too. Not strongly enough to say that nobody should ever have HD skins. If enough people really want it, then I suppose Mojang should do it. But it's not for me. And I wouldn't want my game to be force changed to HD textures.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
