Unlike tools and armour, food has maximum enchant level of 10. When you use enchantment table, the levels start out at 1-5, you need to add 2 bookshelves to raise maximum level by 1.
The food enchantments!
Calories: Increases the amount of hunger refilled by 1 food point per level. Max: 5 Fats: Increases the amount of saturation by factor of 1 per level. Max: 5 Healing: Restores health if you eat food enchanted with this. 1 heart per level. Max: 3 Hunger Regen: Causes hunger bar to regenerate for 2 seconds per level, restoring 1 hunger point per second. With regeneration effect, hunger bar bobs up and down like health bar bobs with regen. Max: 3 (Rare)
The level cost increases by 5 if you add 1 food to stack. So if you put 10 food in a stack, the max level cost is 55. Putting more food increases the level efficiency so if you put 10 in a stack, you can save 45 levels.
I don't think enchanting food this a good idea to be honest, it would only ruin the vanilla. Though calroies would be an interesting concept for a mod though.
It's just extra sprites you shove down your imaginary throat until over and over until you're able to regenerate health, and no one will waste their hard earned XP on that. Also, I hope the word "calories" and "fats" never exist in Minecraft pertaining to food.
