Hi! This is my first post, so please do not get mad at me if this discussion has already happened but...
I have a really good idea for implementing a classroom. Classrooms could feature
An increased spawn rate of child villagers in villages
A classroom building in most villages
Teacher villagers that can sell easles and canvases
Chairs and tables
Like Ocelots sit on beds and chests, villagers sit on chairs
Easles which hold canvases
Custom paintings which the player can paint on a 16x16 with no border so paintings can be put side by side
The paintings use # codes to remember the colours of the painting
If teacher villagers are right clicked near an easle with a canvas, they will paint a picture that is not obtainable via normal paintings.
Thankyou for reading and please give back some positive feedback
Support! The classrooms should start with 5 children, and spawn more over time so their are always children to go the to school.
You mean, eventually a village would suffer from overpopulation? No support from me there. No support also from making adults eventually die of old age to keep the population from forever going up.
So the only possible way to handle it is that the "school" kids just don't grow up at all.
I just think an increased mount of baby villagers, not heaps but just enough to fill the classroom.
The problem with that is
After the classroom is generated, the game does not remember that there is a classroom there. It doesn't remember what kind of structures are generated because there isn't really a good way to do that. After the world is generated for the first time, the only way a village sees a house is if it finds a Door with more blocks on one side than the other.
The number of Villagers is entirely dependent on the number of houses (except for when it is first generated, the game can mess up and make too many Villagers for the village to hold). You would need this to be a special type of villager that never grows up and doesn't count toward village population.
If you changed the idea so that when the game first generates a village (before it forgets what kinds of houses are going to generate) it generates one Teacher Villager for each Classroom building that is going to generate, and then made 3-5 Student Villagers spawn for each Teacher, that could solve those problems.
All my willingness to help out aside, I don't really care for the idea. It just doesn't spark me as necessary or interesting.

Need to work on the fact that there are almost never child villagers though.
