I have been thinking that it must be very annoying for map makers to have to include signs in their maps telling players to switch to Peaceful, easy, normal, hard, or even just anything but peaceful.
Therefore, I has an idea: Why not implement a gamerule which forces a certain Difficulty? Of course, at first this would be set to "All", but could be changed to "Peaceful", "Easy", "Normal", "Hard", or each of these prefixed by an exclamation mark, to set the rule to "Not Peaceful" or "Not Easy". If necessary (and possible), the command could also include ampersands (&) if multiple gamemodes can be selected, but not all.
Tell me what you think about this idea, suggestions to improve it, and if you think it should be added to the game!
Please take notice before you post and make sure that the thing your suggesting is either not already suggested, or to make sure it has not been confirmed.
As far as this post, this is already in the game with the command:
/difficulty <0|1|2|3>
Thanks.
