So this is my first suggestion of many which I will post over my time in the suggestions community. An idea I had was making a magnifying optic with pieces of glass. Eg: you see a mountain in the distance, but want to see it better before traveling there, you could pull out your handy optic to zoom your view of the mountain, like looking through a sniper scope. (Without the crosshairs, of course.) Maybe using more or less glass makes different levels of magnification (x8,x12,x4,Etc.)
What are your thoughts? Definately not game changing but a cool item.
It would be done by loading load less chunks sideways and back from the player, and more chunks in the direct path of the vision, and at an extra distance.
Say, normally, chunks are loaded in a 160 blocks radius all around the player.
But you can make a Spyglass item. Don't care about the recipe for now except that it shouldn't be too cheap. Compass with cost of the clock and compass, the Spyglass should cost even more than those.
Right-click on your held-in-hand Spyglass item and suddenly, the entire screen is zoomed by a factor of 3, and a dark circle is overlaid all around too. So your field of view is reduced at least by a factor of 3 vertically and probably something like 4 horizontally (for screens with a 4: 3 aspect ratio).
Chunks within that field of view, up to say 240 blocks away (instead of the usual 160), get priority loading, and other chunks behind you and on the sides that are further away than 80 blocks get unloaded to make room for the new chunks.

What does that "i'm on the fence" thing mean?
